Waterford parish look for permission to build five-metre high clock on grounds

Waterford's St. Paul's Parish has applied to Waterford City & County Council for planning permission for a special 'jubilee' clock on their grounds at Lisduggan, Waterford.

They are seeking provision of a 5m high three-sided jubilee clock feature on a landscaped plinth. The application also includes associated site development works, including hard and soft landscaping works.

The council has indicated it will announce its decision to grant or refuse the application on or before October 27, 2025.

In the meantime, St Paul's have invited parishioners to an event to launch the proposal for their new landmark.

They said: "This will be a brief information session on the concept, location, design and funding of the jubilee clock. This invitation is going out to all strands of our community, social, business, educational and sporting, to inform and seek support for what may become a defining feature on our parish landscape."

The meeting will begin at 7pm and conclude at 7.45pm on Friday, September 26, in St. Paul’s Parish Centre.

"You are warmly invited to attend," the parish wrote on its website.

You can find out more about the event and other parish activities on the St Paul's Parish website.
