Gardaí in Waterford are hunting a car involved in a hit-and-run which left a cyclist injured as he travelled home.

The collision happened on Sunday, September 21, between 7.30pm and 7.40pm, on the R676 between Leamybrien and Mahon Bridge.

A casing from the car's left wing mirror was recovered, and gardaí have since confirmed the suspect vehicle is a gun-metal grey Seat Leon manufactured in 2018 or later.

"If you can assist in identifying this vehicle, or if you are the owner, we would like to hear from you," a spokesperson said.

An investigation is underway at Kilmacthomas Garda Station.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tramore Garda Station on 051 291620 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
