Waterford gardaí investigating after overnight break-in at popular local takeaway

Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a late-night break-in at a popular local takeaway last week.

The incident occurred at a pizza and kebab shop in Ballybeg between midnight and 10am on Tuesday, September 30, when intruders forced open a side door to gain entry to the premises.

Crime scene investigators attended the scene and some CCTV footage has been obtained as part of the investigation.

Waterford gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area during those hours to come forward.

They also reminded business owners that, like many retail outlets, no cash is kept on the premises overnight.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Crime Unit at Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300.
