The rain warning could lead to river flooding and very difficult travelling conditions
Met Éireann have issued a status orange rain warning for Waterford over the weekend.
The status orange warning which has also been issued for Cork will be in effect from 8pm Saturday to 5am Sunday.
Met Éireann is warning of heavy rain and possible thundery downpours which impacts include possible river flooding especially in mountainous areas and very difficult travelling conditions.

The forecaster also announced a status yellow rain warning for Waterford which will be in place from 5pm on Saturday evening until 5am on Sunday morning.
Met Éireann has advised that the public can expect spells of heavy rain with the possibility of a few thundery downpours from the status yellow rain warning.
They said that possible impacts include difficult travelling conditions and localised flooding.
Beside Waterford, status orange rain warnings were also issued for a number of counties including Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork and Kerry.
