Two Waterford companies have been recognised among Ireland's best after being shortlisted for the 2025 Business & Finance Awards, one of the most respected events on the Irish business calendar.

Murray Group and Copper Coast Renewables will represent Waterford at the national ceremony, which celebrates outstanding leadership, innovation and enterprise across Irish and international business.

Murray Group has been shortlisted in the Company of the Year category, while Copper Coast Renewables, based in Kilmacthomas, is a finalist in the ESG Award category, which recognises excellence in environmental, social and governance standards.

Now in its 51st year and held in association with KPMG, the Business & Finance Awards will take place at Dublin's Convention Centre on Thursday, December 11. More than 1,000 of Ireland's leading business, political and social figures are expected to attend the black-tie gala event.

Organisers say the 2025 shortlist showcases the very best in Irish enterprise, from dynamic SMEs to multinational trailblazers. This year's awards received almost 30% (29.5%) increase in submissions, the highest number in over a decade.

Ian Hyland, President and Publisher of Business & Finance, said the 2025 shortlist was "a testament to the extraordinary calibre of leadership across Ireland's business landscape." He added: "This year marks another important milestone for the awards as we honour Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton with the Sutherland Leadership Award, alongside our outstanding shortlisted companies and leaders who continue to shape Ireland's future on the world stage."

Ryan McCarthy, Managing Partner at KPMG, said: "The significant growth in entries this year reflects the ambition, creative spirit and resilience that define our business community. At KPMG, we are proud to support these awards and to celebrate the leaders and organisations who are not just adapting to change but driving it with courage and vision."

With both Murray Group and Copper Coast Renewables making the shortlist, Waterford will once again take its place among Ireland's business leaders at one of the year's most prestigious events.
