A planning application has been submitted for the construction of a new housing estate in Waterford city.
The application, which was submitted by Vetra Construction Ltd, outlines plans for a 99-house estate in Kilbarry.
The development will consist of a wide variety of house sizes, including 8 one-beds, 24 two-beds, 57 three-beds and 10 four-beds.
A four-storey apartment block consisting of 32 apartments also forms part of the plans.
The development will be joined to a previously approved planned housing development, which will also contain 99 units.

That application was submitted to Magna Construction Ltd in May 2022 and was approved later that year.
It was described as being part of an “overall masterplan for the development of the area”. This new development is believed to be the second part of that plan.
As well as the construction of the aforementioned housing units, site landscaping, public open space and boundary treatments also form part of the development.
A Local Infrastructure Housing Activation Fund (LIHAF) road will also be constructed and connected to the Lacken Road via a proposed roundabout junction.
As well as that, the development will include a road connecting the two housing estates.
Public lighting, drainage, provision of foul and surface water connections, and all associated site works also form part of the plans.
If the application is deemed valid, a decision by Waterford City and County Council will be expected by December 23.
