A man from Waterford was recently rushed to University Hospital Waterford after an assault left him in critical condition.

The father of three is now suffering life-changing medical issues with medical costs of thousands of Euro.

His brother Damian has created a GoFundMe to help pay towards these medical bills and it has raised nearly €25,000 so far.

The assault occurred in October last. The father, Edward, was waiting for a taxi home outside a pub in Cappoquin Co Waterford.

"It's just traumatic, you know, like he's, he's a long, long road ahead of him," Damian said.
