Pictures have emerged of the final pieces of Waterford's newest bridge being lifted into place this week.

On Tuesday, the installation of the southern approach span of the Sustainable Transport Bridge took place with onlookers amazed by the action as the barge crane did its work.

The HEBO Lift 9 sheerleg crane was in action on Wednesday as the final span (northern approach span) was lifted from the barge and manoeuvred into position.

People gathered at William Vincent Wallace Plaza, directly overlooking the River Suir and bridge alignment to watch the operation.
