RIP Breda Keating
A funeral has been held recently for a woman from Waterford who is greatly missed and loved by many in her local community.
Breda Keating (née O'Keefe) was from Cannon Street in Waterford City, formerly of Sexton Street, and passed away on 2nd January 2026.
Predeceased by her loving husband Tom, parents Richard and Bridie, brothers Paddy, Micheal and Harry, sister Kathleen, brother-in-law Micheal, sisters-in-law Bridget, Mary, Kathleen, Linda and Rita.
Sadly missed by her loving son David, daughters Carmel and Ruth, daughter-in-law Edel, sons-in-law Simon and Raymond, grandchildren Eibhilin, John, Conor, Aidan, and Eoghan, brothers Richard, Thomas and John, sister Mary, brother-in-law George, sisters-in-law Trish, Nora, Rose, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Breda's funeral was held on Monday January 5th in the Holy Family Church, Luke Wadding Street at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Otterans Cemetery Ballinaneeshagh, Cork Road, Waterford.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Breda, with one mourner writing,
"To one of the best, strongest women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Many thanks for the many memories and it's a great loss no longer having you here with us. My thoughts are with Carmel, Ruth and David and the rest of her wonderful family. May you rest in peace, Auntie Breda".

Another message said, "We’re so sorry to hear of Breda’s passing. A very dear old friend and neighbour from our days in Cannon street. Thinking of all Breda’s family at this very sad time. May she rest in peace".
"We were so sorry to hear of Breda’s passing we’re so privileged to have had her in our lives a great lady that loved all her family such a loyal and loving person she will be forever missed by us all our heartfelt condolences to Carmel David Ruth Richard John Thomas Mary and extended family," another person said.
