A former bank building in Waterford city is set to be converted into a healthcare facility.
A planning application has been submitted for the conversion of the former Bank of Ireland building in Ardkeen.
The application, which was submitted by Noel Frisby, details plans for a new health centre at the site.
The proposed development would include a doctor’s surgery and four consultant rooms.
A reception, waiting area, blood rooms, store rooms and a tea station also form part of the plans.

As well as that, associated elevational alterations and signage and all associated site works will be carried out.
The site, with an address of Ashe House, Ardkeen Shopping Centre, Dunmore Road, has been unoccupied for several years.
Bank of Ireland closed the branch, along with branches in Kilmacthomas and Lismore, as part of a nationwide closure of 88 branches in 2021.
The application was submitted to Waterford City and County Council on December 18. A decision is expected to be made by February 20.
