An interactive map attached to the report shows that the average distance a driver can travel from the city centre outwards in 30 minutes has increased since 2023.
The map also highlighted the most frequent locations that commuters to the city come from and the routes they take.
Clonmel, Kilmeaden and Tramore were all areas highlighted for their numbers of commuters to the city.
As well as that, the map showed a high-level of commuters coming from Wexford town during off-peak hours.
Waterford was ranked high relative to its modest population of approximately 60,000. Many of the cities ranked alongside it had populations in the hundreds of thousands.
For example, Columbus in Ohio, USA, was ranked three places above Waterford, despite a population of 900,000.
Furthermore, the Mexican city of Puebla, which boasts a population of 1.6 million, was ranked just 12 places above Waterford.

Galway was the second-highest ranked Irish city on the list, coming in at 71st. Cork and Limerick were further down, in 161st and 231st place respectively.
A number of other Irish urban areas, namely Kilkenny, Dundalk and Mullingar, also featured on the list and ranked below Waterford.
