Those in the Irish Naval Service and the community around Poleberry in Waterford are suffering an "immeasurable loss" following the passing of Thomas Burke.
Thomas, who lived at Fitzgerald Road, Cork Road, was a former Senior Chief Petty Officer of the Irish Naval Service Reserves.
He is sadly missed by his loving wife Gaye, mother Phyllis, daughters Susan and Michelle, son-in-law Jonathan Duggan, grandchildren Saoirse and Aidan, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
His father, Noel, passed away before him.

A large number of people have left their condolences for Thomas, with an exy Naval Service employee writing "God be good to him. Fair winds and following seas."
Others described him as "dedicated," "a gentleman," and "one of the greats."
Thomas will be reposing at Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack St, Waterford, this evening (31st March) from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
There will be vigil prayers and Rosary at 8:00 pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on arrival at St. John’s Church, Parnell Street, Waterford tomorrow (1st April) at 12 noon, followed by a private cremation.
