Waterford man Seamus Power has been included in the Great Britain and Ireland team to face golfers from Continental Europe in the new Hero Cup competition.
The tournament, which will be held in Abu Dhabi next January, will be a three-day event to give golfers match play experience ahead of next year's Ryder Cup in Rome.
Power, ranked 28th in the world, currently leads the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings thanks to his good form which has put him in contention to make Luke Donald's European Ryder Cup team.
