Met Éireann has issued a number of warnings forecasting severe weather throughout today (April 12).
Two Status Yellow wind alerts have been issued with widespread gusts of 80 to 110km/h expected in a number of areas.
The first alert covers Leinster, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, and Waterford from 8am until 8pm tonight, while the second covers coastal areas and areas over higher ground, including Clare, Cork, Kerry Limerick and Galway until 3pm today.
Wave overtopping is to be expected in coastal areas.
A Status Yellow Gale warning has also been issued for all coasts of Ireland and on the Irish Sea.
Southwesterly winds veering west to northwest will reach gale force 8 or strong gale force 9 at times.
The warning is valid from midnight until 3am tomorrow (Thursday April 13).
Maximum temperatures will be between 6 to 11 degrees, with lows of 0 to 4 degrees tonight.
A Status Orange storm warning from Roches's Point to Loop Head to Rossan Point is in place until 11am today, with northwest winds reaching storm force 10 at times.
