'A change in store' - Met Éireann signal big weather twist after mild weekend
Met Éireann is predicting a mild and largely pleasant weekend on the weather front for Ireland before a potential big change early next week, according to their latest forecast.
Ireland has been enjoying largely mild and dry weather this week and that looks set to continue for the weekend with the exception of the south of the country which will see rain and drizzle.
Met Éireann's national outlook states: "High pressure will continue to dominate through the outlook period bringing generally mild and settled weather."
Specifically, they say Friday night will stay "largely cloudy with mist and some patches of drizzle, although most areas will stay dry. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with light south to southeast or variable winds."
They add that Saturday will be again "mostly cloudy with just limited sunny breaks. It will generally be dry with just a few spots of drizzle. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light and variable winds.

The forecast continues: "Cloudy again ]on Sunday] with a few outbreaks of drizzle mainly for southern counties. A light southerly breeze will persist and it'll stay rather mild too with highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees.
"Another overcast night but most areas will remain dry. A few mist or drizzle patches will affect southern counties. A southerly breeze will persist with lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees.
"The cloudy conditions will stay with us into the new week with a southerly breeze bringing some light drizzle across southern parts of Munster and Leinster [on Monday]. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees."
It is from Tuesday onwards that Met Éireann sees a change coming: "Perhaps a change is in store for Tuesday with a band of rain likely to move in across southwestern counties by the afternoon, while cloudy conditions persist elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees," they concluded.
