We are in for quite a mild and damp weekend according to Met Éireann's latest weekend weather forecast.

On Friday, 13 December, it will be a mostly cloudy day with patches of some sunny spells. Luckily, it will remain mostly dry for much of the day with only a few spots of drizzle and mist, particularly in the northwest and west.

Temperatures will remain cool, with highest temperatures ranging between 4 and 8 degrees in a light westerly wind.

That cloudy weather will continue into the night with some mist and isolated fog. Although it will become clearer from the northwest overnight, with some scattered showers following into the north and west. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees with some frost.

On Saturday, 14 December, it will be mostly dry and bright for a time. However, there will be a few scattered showers in the morning mainly in coastal parts of the north and west. In the northwest, it will become increasingly cloudy in the afternoon and evening. Some patchy light rain and drizzle will spread from here as well as some mist and hill fog.

The eastern half of the country will see temperatures reach only 5 degrees, while the west will be warmer at 10 degrees.

Likewise, the cloud and drizzle will continue on Saturday night with lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees.

Sunday, 15 December, will largely remain the same with some patchy outbreaks of rain here and there in an overall mostly dry day. It will be milder, however, than previous days with highest temperatures reaching from 10 to 12 degrees.

Sunday night will also be mild with lowest temperatures ranging from 7 to 11 degrees.
