Thunderstorms and hail showers on the way according to Met Éireann's latest forecast
It looks like the country is set for another mixed week of weather according to Met Éireann's latest forecast.
Monday started off with some scattered showers across the country, however these showers will become heavier as they spread from the west through the afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms and hail are also expected in the afternoon, tapering off by this evening. Temperatures will range from between 9 and 12 degrees.
Monday night will see even more rain, hail and thunderstorms in the west and north of the country. The east and south should be drier with longer intervals of clear spells. Temperatures will dip between 1 and 4 degrees.
Tuesday will see a mix of sunshine and showers. The rain will be mostly confined to the west in the morning, however they will spread eastwards later in the day. These showers will turn heavy with a chance of hail. Highest temperatures will range from 7 to 9 degrees.

The rain will continue into Tuesday night. It will turn cloudy overnight and as showers spread from the west they will become heavier in some parts with even more hail. The rain will clear by the early hours of the morning. Similar to Monday night, Tuesday night's temperatures will vary from 1 to 4 degrees.
Wednesday will also be sunny with some scattered showers. Thankfully, these showers will start to ease in the evening. It will be quite a breezy day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.
Wednesday night will be drier than previous nights, although there will be some isolated showers in the west and north. It will also be a colder night with lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees.
Thursday will be another bright day and mostly dry with just the odd scattered shower. It will be a milder day with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in a light to moderate westerly wind.
Friday will be drier with some spells of sunshine. However, it will become cloudier in the afternoon with the chances of rain in the west. Highest temperatures will reach between 7 to 10 degrees.
