Met Éireann pinpoints when mini-heatwave will end in latest weekend weather update
As the entire country enjoys this very mini-heatwave, Met Éireann have now predicted when we can expect an end to the dry and hot weather in their latest weather update.
With temperatures to hit 29 degrees in some parts of the country on Friday, it is to be the hottest day of the year so far. And although the weekend is to remain warm, some outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms may dampen any hopes of a dry day at the beach.
As well as this, Met Éireann have warned that as the days go on the weather will become more unsettled as an Atlantic regime takes hold.
Here is the forecast for the coming days according to Met Éireann.
Friday night will be dry in most areas, though a few isolated showers are possible in parts of Ulster and Leinster. It will be a mild one, with temperatures not falling below 12 to 17 degrees.
Saturday will be warm with plenty of sunshine for much of the country, although it will be cloudier at times in western areas. Scattered showers will develop, some of which may turn heavy and possibly thundery. Highest temperatures will range from 19 to 25 degrees and it will be warmest in the eastern half of the country.
