The latest weather update has forecast a wet, sunny and very humid few days ahead. It looks like we're in for a mixed-bag of weather over the weekend and into the start of next week.

Although rain and drizzle looks set to persist over the coming days, Cathal Nolan of Ireland's Weather Channel has reassured that on Sunday we should see "a silver lining" with some drier conditions and temperatures rising back up to 24 and 25 degrees. He added that some parts of the country may even see highs of 26 degrees.

The weather pattern will remain changeable over the coming days, however it will continue to be very humid. Night time temperatures are noticeably high on some nights, with Friday night seeing temperatures stew around 18 degrees.

Here is how the weather is shaping up over the weekend according to Met Éireann.

Friday night will be humid with some patchy rain and drizzle overnight. Rain will become more persistent later on in Connacht. Lowest temperatures will range between 14 and 18 degrees.

Saturday will be off to a cloudy start with some scattered showers. It will become drier and brighter in the northern half of the country by the afternoon. The southern half of the country will see cloud and rain linger for much of the day. Highest temperatures will reach between 17 and 23 degrees.

Saturday night will see some patchy rain and mist in the south and southeast. It will be mostly dry elsewhere with some clear spells. The northern half of the country will see lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees, while the south will be warmer with lows of 13 to 16 degrees.

Sunday will be a warm and humid day. It will be cloudy in the south during the morning with some mist and drizzle. This cloud should break by the afternoon leaving behind some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees.

Sunday night will be mostly dry, although Atlantic coastal areas will see some rain and drizzle. It will be another humid night with lowest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

Likewise, Monday will be another warm and humid day. Most areas will see a cloudy start with some mist and drizzle. Sunny spells will develop in parts during the day with the odd chance of some showers. Rain is likely to develop in the west and northwest towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees. 

Monday night will see see a rain-band associated with a cold front push eastwards over the country, however rainfall will be minimal. Clearer and fresher weather will follow. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees. 

So far, Tuesday looks like it will be a bright and breezy day with lots of sunshine and some showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 22 degrees.
