'Plenty of dry weather' - Met Éireann forecast predict 25C every day this week
Ireland could officially welcome heatwave weather this week with temperatures predicted to be above 25C every day this week, according to Met Éireann.
The outlook from the national forecaster says it will be "warm and humid by day and night" this week with "lots of dry weather." However, they temper the forecast by saying "showers are expected each day, heavy at times with thunderstorms."
In their forecast for Monday, August 11, Met Éireann say it will be "a mild and humid day with rain in the north clearing through the morning and early afternoon as spells of sunshine extend from the south. A few showers will develop later, some of which may turn heavy with isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 21 to 26 degrees in light, occasionally moderate southerly breezes."
A mix of cloud and clear spells with well scattered showers is expected Monday evening and it will be "another mild and humid night with temperatures not falling below 12 to 16 degrees in light southeasterly or variable breezes."

The Met Éireann forecast for the rest of the week reads: "Plenty of dry conditions with spells of sunshine [on Tuesday], however, slow-moving thundery showers will develop in places with some localised spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees generally in light southeasterly breezes
"Largely dry overnight with clear spells and a few showers. Cloudier conditions will build in the southwest later with the possibility of some outbreaks of rain developing. Temperatures again not falling below 12 to 16 degrees with light variable breezes.
"Some uncertainty in the details at present [for Wednesday] but indications are that it will be another mild and humid day with sunny spells though showers or showery outbreaks of rain will likely push up from the south with some thundery bursts. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees for most with light southerly breezes.
"A mix of cloud and sunny spells with scattered showers developing [on Thursday], some of which may turn heavy or thundery. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees with light breezes."
Beyond that, Met Éireann's further outlook says: "Current indications suggest that our weather will continue warm with temperatures generally in the low to mid-twenties. Plenty of dry weather too though further showers are likely at times."
