LIVE: Met Éireann's weekend weather is in - three counties hit with warnings
Met Éireann's weekend weather forecast for Ireland is very much a game of two halves with heavy rain to start on Saturday but brighter fortunes from Sunday onwards.
In their latest weather forecast, Met Éireann says the outlook for the coming days shows things "becoming largely dry and settled with just light rain or showers at times as high pressure stays close by."
However, Saturday will bring significant rainfaill and Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for three counties. They say there will be "heavy rain leading to a chance of some flooding and travel disruption on Saturday" in Armagh, Antrim and Down.
The warning is valid from 7am to 7pm on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Met Éireann says Saturday will see "rain continue over the eastern half of the country, heavy at times. A bright start further west with isolated showers. Rain will become confined to the northeast in the afternoon, with further heavy downpours possibly leading to spot flooding. Sunny spells and isolated showers will develop elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate west to northwest winds.
"Staying dry for most with clear spells [on Saturday night], though a band of showery rain will move in from the west through the night, largely clearing by the morning. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees with mostly light west to southwest breezes."
The forecast for Sunday reads: "A largely dry day with sunny spells and well scattered light showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with light westerly breezes.
"Staying dry for most with clear spells [again on Sunday night], though scattered light showers will feed in from the west. Patches of mist and fog are also likely to form in light variable winds. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees."
Looking ahead to next week and despite some patchy mist and fog to start on Monday, things will remain largely dry. Met Éireann says: "Patches of mist and fog in the morning will clear to leave a day with a mix of cloud, sunny spells and scattered light showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with mostly light southwesterly breezes."
They add: "Current indications show a largely cloudy day [on Tuesday] with scattered showers, keeping mostly confined to the west and north. The best of any sunny spells are likely to be in parts of the south and east. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.
Beyond that, Met Éireann outlines: "Current indications show high pressure remaining nearby bringing largely settled conditions, though some light rain or showers are possible at times."
