'Heavy showers and thunder' possible this Bank Holiday weekend but better conditions due next week

Today (Friday) is expected to be cloudy but warm
"Unsettled" weather consisting of heavy showers and thunder is to be expected across Ireland this Bank holiday weekend, with some "mild and dry" weather due next week.
Today (Friday) is expected to be cloudy but warm, with highest temperatures ranging between 13 and 19 degrees, according to Met Éireann.
"We are going to be seeing sunny spells developing at times too, and then, later this afternoon, we’re going to start to see some showers developing,” Meteorologist, Holly O’Neill, told the daily weather podcast.
She added that there is a chance of thunder tonight and that showers may become "persistent and heavy" throughout the evening.
Mist and fog will develop overnight, with temperatures dropping to between 6 and 10 degrees.
Saturday will start cloudy, with widespread showers forecast for the weekend along with more "unsettled" conditions.
The chance of thunder remains on Saturday and Sunday, but there will be some "sunny breaks" too.
Temperatures will range between 12 and 16 degrees across both days.
Bank Holiday Monday will be mostly dry and cloudy, but will be slightly cooler than the weekend.
Temperatures of between 10 and 14 degrees are expected.
After Monday, the weather should become milder and drier, with the return of high pressure.
It is likely to remain cloudy, but dry.
Milder conditions are expected towards the end of next week, and a full forecast can be found on the Met Éireann website.
