21-year-old man charged with sexual communication with a child under 16

A 21-year-old man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with sexual communication with a child under 16.

The man was granted an interim anonymity order at this stage faces a total of four charges. 

He is charged with sexual communication with a child under 16 on December 5, 2020.

He was also charged with making and possessing an indecent image as well as a charge of sending an indecent image through the communication network again on the same date.

A police officer connected the accused to the charges. 

The man will appear again on December 6.
