24 hours, 11 branches: Murdock team complete epic 440km charity run

Crowds gather from Dungannon to Derry to cheer on the four-man squad during their tireless 24-hour charity challenge.
Four members of the Murdock Builders Merchants team have successfully completed an extraordinary 440-kilometre charity challenge, inspiring an incredible wave of support from local communities across Northern Ireland while raising vital funds for three remarkable charities.
The challenge, titled Murdock 110KM, saw Kevin Murdock, Connor Gough, Drew Fowler and Stephen Patterson each run an astonishing 110 kilometres in just 24 hours. Together, they covered 440 kilometres across Murdock's 11 Northern Ireland branches, running continuously through the day and night.
What began as an ambitious fundraising challenge quickly became a story of determination, generosity and community spirit.
Throughout the 24-hour challenge, supporters turned out at branches and along the route to cheer the team on, while volunteers gave up their time to help with driving, logistics and fundraising activities. From the start line in Dungannon to the finish in Newry, the runners were met with unwavering encouragement every step of the way.
The challenge raised funds for three charities close to the runners' hearts: Daisy Lodge (Cancer Fund for Children), Down’s Syndrome Association NI and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
After completing the final leg of the journey, the team returned to Newry where they were welcomed home by colleagues, family, friends and supporters in an emotional finish-line celebration.
Drew Fowler said: "What we achieved over those 24 hours was incredible, but what I'll remember most is the support. Everywhere we went, people came out to cheer us on and help us keep going. The atmosphere was unbelievable. It showed what can happen when people come together behind something positive."

Martin Farrell, Managing Director of Murdock Builders Merchants, added:
"This challenge was about far more than running. It brought people together, raised money for important causes and showcased the incredible team spirit that exists across our business. We couldn't be prouder of Kevin, Connor, Drew and Stephen and everyone who supported them along the way. Completing a combined 440km in just 24 hours while travelling across Northern Ireland is nothing short of outstanding."
While the challenge may now be complete, fundraising remains open, with all proceeds supporting the three chosen charities and the vital work they carry out across Northern Ireland.
