Applications are now open for the Derry Rose of Tralee - do you have what it takes?

As Rose of Tralee Maggie McEldowney visits the county today and tomorrow, the search for the Derry Rose of Tralee continues.

This year's Rose will be following in the footsteps of Eiméar Cassidy from Newbridge, who unfortunately did not make it to the televised final last year.

However, we had a county connection with winner Maggie, whose grandmother, Brigid O’Neill, was born in Maghera, Co Derry.

She was certainly looking forward to her return to her ancestral home this week.

Maggie posted on Facebook: "Counting down the minutes until I'm back in Derry! Looking forward to spending time with my family, new friends, and the gorgeous Official Derry Rose Centre Eimear!! ??❤ #backhomeinderry #upderry #roseoftralee"
