The Apprentice Boys of Derry have held their first ever St Patrick’s Day parade in the city.
Around 150 members of the local No Surrender club, accompanied by the William King Memorial Flute Band, took part in the event.
Hundreds of onlookers, many dressed in green, lined the parade route which saw the Apprentice Boys leave the Fountain at noon before makin to make their way along Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, The Diamond, Bishop Street and London Street to St Columb’s Cathedral.
A church service is currently being held in the cathedral during which a new banner will be dedicated and unfurled.
Afterwards, the Apprentice Boys will parade to their headquarters in nearby Society Street for a social event.
