Bailed granted for Derry man who breached non-molestation order

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with breaching a non-molestation order.
Colin McLaughlin, 39, of Bloomfield Park in Derry, was charged with breaching a non-molestation order against his former partner on November 18.
The court heard that the breach happened in a bar in Waterloo Street after the victim came into the bar where McLaughlin was. It was his second breach in eight months.
Police did not object to bail under suggestions that the court impose a curfew and ban him from entering licenced premises.
Defence barrister Graine McAnaney told the court that McLaughlin had already been in the bar when the victim walked in and asked the doorman to have him removed.
She alleged that his former partner frequently goes to the same places as him, as well as often texting him only to delete the messages.
McLaughlin denied saying anything to the victim, saying that he simply left the bar.
Bail was granted under the condition that McLaughlin does not enter any licenced premises on Waterloo Street after 7pm.
He will appear again on January 12.
