Bright future mapped out for former Thornhill girl who achieved top geography A-level results

Former Thornhill pupil Blessy Biji has been recognised at the CCEA Celebrating Excellence Awards for her achievement of 1st place in A-Level Geography in NI out of 1605 students.
She also received a Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Excellence Awards for pupils who achieved the highest marks nationally in the 2017 geography examinations.
The Society’s Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate the hard work and success of the pupils who achieve the highest marks in the GCSE, IGCSE, Certificate in Geography, A Level, Pre-U and International Baccalaureate geography examinations each year. Students from schools across England, Northern Ireland and Wales are eligible for the awards. Steve Brace, the Society’s Head of Education and Outdoor Learning, said: “The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is delighted to recognise the hard work and success of those pupils who achieved the highest marks nationally in last year’s geography examinations. These pupils have done exceptionally well, which reflects well on their abilities as young geographers and also the commitment of their geography teachers.” The winning students, named below, each receive a voucher and certificate from the Society.
