Jamie Redfern from Millrace Square in Moneymore pleaded guilty to a charge of being concerned in supplying cocaine on dates between September 22, 2022 and February 7, 2023

A 21-year-old County Derry man is to be sentenced next month after he pleaded guilty at his arraignment to committing several drugs offences at Derry Crown Court.

Jamie Redfern from Millrace Square in Moneymore pleaded guilty to a charge of being concerned in supplying cocaine on dates between September 22, 2022 and February 7, 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to being concerned in supplying cannabis between the same dates. He further pleaded guilty to a single charge of possessing cannabis on February 7 of last year.

The defendant  pleaded not guilty to possessing criminal property, namely £47,000, in a Danske Bank account between September 6, 2021 and November 27, 2023.

A barrister for the Public Prosecution Service said that three other related charges were to be left on the books, not to be proceeded with without leave of the court or of the High Court.

Defence barrister Michael Forde told Judge Neil Rafferty KC  that in relation to the possessing criminal property charge of £47,000, discussions to find an agreed  final amount were continuing between the prosecution and defence but he said that the charge would ultimately not trouble the court.

Judge Rafferty ordered the preparation of pre-sentence and psychological reports for June 28 and said he would sentence Redfern on that date. He also fixed a provisional date for a standby trial in relation to the £47,000 criminal property charge to enable discussions between the prosecution and defence to continue.

The defendant was released on continuing paid until he's sentenced next month.
