County Derry man returned for trial on charges of assault and animal abuse

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges of assault, animal abuse, criminal damage and assaulting police following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrates Court.
Jordan Kavanagh (28) of Rathbrady Road in Limavady was charged with, on December 13 last year, multiple counts of assault, non-fatal strangulation, criminal damage, making threats to kill, making threats to damage property, assaulting police and causing unnecessary suffering to a dog.
It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
Kavanagh chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.
He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on September 26 in custody.
