The following deaths have occurred:-
David Albert (Davy) Falconer, 16 Irwin Crescent, Claudy
The death has taken place of David Albert (Davy) Falconer, 14th February 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital (in the tender loving care of his family in his 76th year) much loved husband of Jennifer, devoted father of Paul, Stephen, Wendy and Andrew, beloved father-in-law of Hazel, Wilma and Mark, an adored grandfather of Crystal, William and David, a treasured great-grandfather, a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral leaving his late home, 16 Irwin Crescent, Claudy on Saturday, 18th February at 12.30pm for a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in Cumber Upper Parish Church (Allah) at 1.00pm, burial afterwards in Upper Cumber Cemetery. Family time between hours of 10.00pm and 11.00am please, by request. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Learmount Parish Church c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24a Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry, BT47 3QQ. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. Gone to be with the Lord which is far better.
Mary Harper (née Creane), Derry
The death has taken place of Mary Harper (née Creane), 16th February 2023, beloved wife of the late Cyril, daughter of the late Patrick and Annie Creane of Edenreagh, dear sister of Patrick, Joe and the late Anne (O’Brien), James, Frankie, Eugene and Anthony, sister-in-law of Myra and Nan and a much loved aunt and great-aunt. Mary's remains will be reposing in her brother’s home, 114 Lettershandoney Avenue, from 2.30pm on Friday. Funeral from there on Saturday at 11.25am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Liam Hegarty, 43 Garvagh Road, Dungiven
The death has occurred of Liam Hegarty, 16th February 2023, beloved husband of Marie, 43 Garvagh Road, Dungiven, loving father of Louise, David and Anna, father-in-law of Uná, devoted grandfather of Joshua, Dáithí and Erin and dear brother of Marie, Winnie, Bernadette, Martin, Seamus and the late John. House strictly private please. Funeral from his home on Saturday at 1.20 pm for 2 o’clock Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Dungiven. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. St Joseph intercede for him.
Kevin Higgins, Limavady
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Kevin Higgins (suddenly) in Sweden on 3rd February 2023. May he rest in peace. Partner of Sonia and loving father of Caoimh and Ida. Loving son of Danny and Mary and dear brother of Michael, Ruaidhrí and Paddy. Kevin will repose at the family home upon his return to Limavady, Co Derry. The family have kindly asked that people pay their respects at Kevin’s wake, dates of which will be confirmed in due course and will be updated here as soon as they become available. Family home private meantime.
Lawrence McGuinness, 36 Dunlade Road, Greysteel
The death has taken place of Lawrence McGuinness, 15th February 2023, beloved husband of the late Olive, loving father of Mervyn, Gordon, Ivan, Marina and Alwyn, a much loved grandfather, great-grandfather and dear brother. Funeral from his home, 36 Dunlade Road, Greysteel, on Friday at 3.20pm for 4o’clock service in W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU. House restricted to family and close friends only please. A private cremation will take place in Lakelands Crematorium at a later date. Family flowers only please.
