The following deaths have occurred:-
Billy Buchanan, Whispering Pines, Limavady
The death has taken place of Billy Buchanan, passed away peacefully at his own home, Whispering Pines, Limavady. Much loved husband of the late Nan. Loving father of Irvine, Fiona and Derek. Dear Father of Rhonda, Pete and Zara, devoted grandfather of Danielle and David also a dear Brother and Uncle. House strictly private Funeral arrangements later. Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his entire family circle.
Kathleen Doherty (née Barron), 126 Racecourse Road, Ballyarnett, Derry
The death has taken place of Kathleen Doherty (née Barron), 25th January 2024, beloved wife of Hugh, 126 Racecourse Road, Ballyarnett, loving mother of John, Annemarie and Mark, much loved grandmother of Caitlin, Hannah and Daniel, mother-in-law of Ruth and dear sister of Bob, Margaret and the late Phil. Her remains are reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Saturday at 12o'clock for 12.30pm Requiem Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 12noon. The Mass can be viewed live on the Church webcam. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Leon Ó Laifeartaigh, Foxhill, Waterside, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Leon Ó Laifeartaigh, peacefully at The Foyle Hospice, surrounded by his loving family on 24th January 2024. Late of Foxhill, Waterside and formerly of The Collon. May he rest in peace. Beloved son of the late Leo and Winifred. Devoted brother of John and the late Christina. Brother-in-law of Maura and Robbie. Loving uncle of Paul, Robert and Stephanie. A much loved great-uncle of Sarah, Yasmin, John, Emine and Zara. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his dearest friends. Leon’s remains will be reposing at the McClafferty Funeral Home and Chapel of Rest. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, 27th January at 11.20am for 12.00pm Requiem Mass in The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at the McClafferty Funeral Home and Chapel of Rest between 6.00pm and 10.00pm on Friday, 26th January. The death has occurred of the late Robert John Smyth, Died peacefully at his home, 46 Glenhead Road, Ballykelly on 25th January 2024. Loving son of the late Sam and Sadie. Loving Partner of the late Sheila. Loving brother of Jenny, Rae, Gerald, George, Kit, Marlene, June & the late Sammy, Matthew and Linda. Loving Uncle & Great Uncle to all Niece's & Nephews. The death has taken place of Ethan James White, age 22, peacefully at his home on 23rd January, 2024. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 31st January, 2024 at Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium, 582 Doagh Road, Newtownabbey BT36 5RZ at 2.00pm.
