The following deaths have occurred:-
Joseph Patrick Browne, 48 Ardfoyle, Derry
The death has taken place of Joseph Patrick Browne, 30th May 2023, (peacefully) at Letterkenny Hospital, (late of 48 Ardfoyle), beloved partner of Bernadette, loving father of Natasha, David and Caoimhe, dear son of the late Joe and Margaret, loving brother of Bernadette, Helen, Cornelius and Robert. Funeral leaving Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home on Saturday, 3rd June at 2.00pm to the City Cemetery for interment at 2.30pm. Viewing at Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Chapel on Friday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm and Saturday from 1.00pm to 2.00pm. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.
Helen Cook (née Church), formerly of Golf Terrace, Magherafelt
The death has taken place of Helen Cook (née Church), 22nd May 2023, (peacefully) at The Royal Preston Hospital, England, late of Robin Hay Road, Leyland, Preston and formerly of Golf Terrace, Magherafelt. Dearly beloved wife of the late Peter, loving sister of Billy and the late Carol and Flo and also a dear sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt. Funeral from Garvin’s Funeral Home on Friday, 2nd June at 1.30pm for service in First Magherafelt Presbyterian Church at 2.00pm approx.., followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for Kilronan School payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donations A/c..) Lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Eileen Coyle (née Conway), 26 Plantation Road, Ballykelly
The death has occurred of Eileen Coyle (née Conway), 1st June 2023, beloved wife of the late Fenton, 26 Plantation Road, Ballykelly, loving mother of Sharon, Neal and Kenneth and dear sister of Joe and the late Robert, Sadie and Margaret. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Saturday at 11.30am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St Finlough’s Church, Ballykelly. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Betty Gill (née Doherty), 53 Liscloon Drive, Shantallow, Derry
The death has taken place of Betty Gill (née Doherty), (peacefully) at home. Beloved Wife of the late Edward and Loving Mother of Catherine, Deborah, Allison and Edward. A much loved Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Dear sister of Helen, Mary, Celine, Pat, Angela and the late Jean, Peggy, Hugh, Brian, Tony and Billy. Funeral from her home 53 Liscloon Drive, Shantallow on Saturday, 3rd June at 12.30pm to Our Lady of Lourdes, Steelstown for Requiem Mass at 1.00pm. Interment immediately afterwards in Cockhill Cemetery, Buncrana. Sacred Heart of Jesus have Mercy on her soul.
William (Willie) Loughrey, 38 Hanover Place, Coleraine
The death has taken place of William (Willie) Loughrey, 1st June 2023, (peacefully) at hospital, 38 Hanover Place, Coleraine, Coleraine, dearly beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty), much loved father of Harry, Julie, Lorraine and Linda, dear father-in-law of Miranda, Stephen and the late Brendan, devoted granda of Shona, Molly, James, Morrigan, Charlie and Erin and great-granda to Jack and Dylan. Service of Thanksgiving in New Row Presbyterian Church on Monday at 12.00noon followed by a private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations in leu if desired for Macmillan Cancer Support c/o Mrs Mona Murdock, 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Deeply regretted by his loving family and entire family circle.
Marie Veronica McNaney (née McGurk), Moneymore
The death has taken place of Marie Veronica McNaney (née McGurk), 31st May 2023, beloved wife of the late Gerald and loving mother of Mary, Gearoid and the late Stephen, Patrick and Helen, daughter of the late Frank and Ellen McGurk and dear sister of the late Kathleen, Bessie, Eddie, Hugh, Leo and James. Funeral from her son Gearoid’s home, 46 Springhill Road Moneymore on Saturday, 3rd June at 8.30am for 9.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St. John and St Trea Moneymore, via webcam st-john-trea-church-moneymore - MCN (mcnmedia.tv) interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by her son, daughter, grandchildren Sean, Shannon, Paddy, Liam, great grandchildren Stephen and Hunter, nephews, nieces and extended family circle.
Bosco Moore (Butcher), 8 Hatmore Park, Derry
The death has taken place of Bosco Moore (Butcher), 1st June 2023, (peacefully) at his home, 8 Hatmore Park, beloved husband of Ruby, loving father of Darren, Leona, Edele and Keith, devoted grandfather to Caolan, Riley, Kiersha, Colton, Harlow and Cian, great-grandfather to Arianna, dear son of the late Liam and Florrie, loving brother of Lily, Liam, Jim, Noel, Deirdre, Martin, Gregory, Richard, Kevin and the late Margaret and Pearse. Loved and sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving his home on Sunday, 4th June at 12.50pm to St. Mary’s Church Creggan for funeral Mass at 1.30pm. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if wished to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry. Wake commences today (Friday) at 10.00am. Alex David Smallwoods, 156 Ivy Mead, Altnagelvin, Derry
The death has occurred of Alex David Smallwoods, 28th May 2023, (suddenly) as a result of a road traffic accident, adored son of Stewart and Sara, much loved big brother of Hannah, cherished grandson of Elsie, Annie and Billy. Funeral leaving his late home, 156 Ivy Mead, Altnagelvin, BT47 3WX on Monday, 5th June, at 1.00pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in Glendermott Presbyterian Church at 2.00pm burial afterwards in adjoining Churchyard. Family time please from Friday, 2nd June until Saturday at 12.00noon everyone is welcome to call at the family home after the above times. Very deeply regretted and will be lovingly remembered by his entire family circle.
