Veronica (Vonnie) Gallagher (née McGilloway), 343 Carnhill, Derry
The death has occurred of Veronica (Vonnie) Gallagher (née McGilloway), 4th April 2024, loving wife of Frankie and Loving Mother of Martin, John, Marie, Peter, Veronica, Denis and Melita. A much loved Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Daughter of the late George and Bridget McGilloway, Pilots Row. Dear sister of the late Robert, Denis, Eilish, Willie, Neil & Patsy. House is private on Friday, 5th April 2024 for family time only please. Wake will commence on Saturday, 6th April at her home, 343 Carnhill, Derry. Funeral from there on Monday, 8th April at 10.30am to Saint Brigid's Church, Carnhill for Requiem Mass at 1.00am. Interment immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. House private from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please, donations if wished in lieu to the Foyle hospice. Sacred Heart of Jesus have Mercy on her soul.
Gerald Hegarty, 12 Dunlade Road, Greysteel
The death has taken place of the late Gerald Hegarty, 3rd April 2024 peacefully at home, 12 Dunlade Road, Greysteel, beloved husband of Adeline, loving father of Geralyn, Karen, Jennifer and Ethna, father-in-law of Kevin, Brian, Mark and Shane, and a much loved grandfather and brother. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Saturday at 11.20am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mark Lusby, 25 Bigwood Road, Ardmore
The dearh has taken place of the late Mark Lusby, 4th April 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, loving husband of Deirdre, 25 Bigwood Road, Ardmore, loving father of Eimear, Odhrán and Skye and a much loved brother and uncle. Mark’s remains will be reposing in his home on Friday from 11.00am to 10.00pm. Funeral from there on Saturday at 1.20pm for 2o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Ardmore. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Shaun McCloskey, Glasgow, (formerly of Lislane Drive, Derry)
The death has taken place of the late Shaun McCloskey, 15th October 2023, peacefully in Glasgow, (formerly of Lislane Drive), beloved son of the late Ann and Frank, loving brother of Sally and Eveleen. Requiem Mass to be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh at 12.30pm on Saturday, 6th April 2024, followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.
Vonnie McElhinney (née Ferris), 49 Gortnaghey Road, Dungiven
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Vonnie McElhinney (née Ferris), peacefully at home on 3rd April 2024, may she rest in peace. Late of 49 Gortnaghey Road, Dungiven, Co Derry. Beloved wife of the late Tommy R.I.P and loving mother of Patsy, Sandra, Bernie, Tommy Joe, Deborah, Rhonda, Amanda and the late Anne R.I.P. A much loved grandmother and great grandmother. Beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Annie R.I.P and dear sister of the late Brendan, Teresa and Patsy R.I.P. Deeply regretted by the entire family circle. Reposing at her late home. The death has occurred of the late Martin McFeely, 4th April 2024 at Altnagelvin Hospital, husband of Geralyn, loving father of Jolene and Declan, father-in-law of Cathal and Sharon, much loved grandfather of Leah, Niamh, Zara and Oisin and a much loved brother and uncle. Martin’s remains will be reposing in the family home, 456 Carnhill. Funeral from there on Saturday at 9.20am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower. James (Jim) Wright, 237 Sperrin Park, Caw, Derry
The death has taken place of the late James (Jim) Wright, 2nd April 2024, suddenly at his home (in his 79th year) much loved husband of the late Angela, devoted dad of Deborah and the late Stephen, adored granda of Jonathan and Ryan, an adored great-granda, dearest brother of Ella, Billy and the late Anna. Service of Thanksgiving in his late home, 237 Sperrin Park, Caw, Derry, on Saturday, 6th April at 11.00am followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery.
