The following deaths have occurred:-
David Alexander Huey, 50 Woodburn Park, Derry
The death has taken place of David Alexander Huey, 26th August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by his loving family in his 70th year formerly of 50 Woodburn Park, Derry) much loved son of the late Alexander (Lexie) and Rebecca (Ruby) loving cousin of Ian and a dear uncle. Service of Thanksgiving for his life in D. & R. Hay & Sons, Funeral Home 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ on Tuesday, 29th August at 2.00pm followed by burial in Altnagelvin Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Chest, Heart & Stroke c/o Mrs. Ruth Hay, Funeral Director (address as above). House Strictly Private. Everyone is welcome to call at the Funeral Home on Monday, 28th August from 11.00am until 2.00pm and evening between 6.00pm until 8.00pm Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “The Lord’s my Shepherd“
Edwin (Eddie) Kane, The Cresent, Coleraine
The death has taken place of Edwin (Eddie) Kane, 23rd August 2023, (peacefully) at hospital, late of The Cresent, Coleraine. Dear husband of the late May, much loved father of Alison, Philip and Rodney and a devoted Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Service in Murdock’s Funeral Home, 2A Windsor Avenue, Coleraine on Tuesday at 12noon followed by interment in Ballywillan Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired for N.I.C.H.S c/o Mrs Mona Murdock, 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family and entire family circle.
John McGlinchey, 9 Harding Street, Derry
The death has occurred of John McGlinchey, 27th August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Von, 9 Harding Street, loving father of Dermot, father-in-law of Dearbhla, son of the late James and Rose (Highmoor Road, Tamnaherin) and dear brother of Gerard, Brendan, Brian and the late Jim and Bridie. Will be dearly missed by all his extended family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton on Monday from 1.00pm to 2.00pm. His remains will then be removed from there to his home for a wake. Funeral from his home on Wednesday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower. Interment afterwards St Mary’s Cemetery, Tamnaherin. Family flowers only please. Eugene McSherry, 19 O’Casey Court, Ballymagroarty, Derry
The death has taken place of Eugene McSherry, 27th August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Majella, loving father of Eugene, Louise, Mark and Lyndsey, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, dear son of the late Thomas and Catherine, a dear and loving brother and cherished uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Funeral leaving his home, 19 O’Casey Court, Ballymagroarty on Tuesday, 29th August at 9.20am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 10.00am. Christine Sheehan (née O’Grady), 65 Elmgrove, Derry
The death has taken place of Christine Sheehan (née O’Grady), 25th August 2023, (peacefully) at her home, 65 Elmgrove, (formerly of Larkhill), beloved wife of Joe, loving mother of Gerry and Declan, devoted grandmother of Thi-Lana, darling daughter of the late Gerry and Margaret, dear and loving sister of Geraldine, Phyllis, Bernadette, Brendan, Kevin, Toirealach and the late Michael and Maureen, a cherished aunt to all her nieces and nephews and a dear mother-in-law to Róisín and Tracy. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving her home on Monday, 28th August at 10.20am to St. Brigid’s Church, Carnhill for Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.
