The following deaths have occurred:-
John Steele Bonner, 7 Gortree Road, Drumahoe
The death has taken place of John Steele Bonner, 17th November 2022, (peacefully) at his home, 7 Gortree Road, Drumahoe (surrounded by his loving family in his 75th year) dearly beloved husband of the late Isobel, much loved dad of Desmond and Don, loving father-in-law of Debbie and Marion, adored granda of Ethan, Holly, Sarah, Philip, Jordan, Toni and Kaitlyn, great-granda of Jaxon and Perrie, dearest brother of Harold, Cecil and the late Sheila and Billy. Service of Thanksgiving in his late home on Monday, 21st November at 1.30pm followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Joey Dunlop Injured Riders Fund c/o Mrs. Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Very deeply regretted and will be lovingly remembered by his entire family circle. One of life's true Gentlemen.
Doris May Linton (née Brown), 33 Draperstown Road, Desertmartin
The death has taken place of Doris May Linton (née Brown), 17th November 2022, (peacefully) at her home, 33 Draperstown Road, Desertmartin, devoted Wife of Raymond, much loved Mother of Mark, Samuel, Rachel, Cherith, Aaron and Ruth, a loving Mother-in-Law of Tanya, Andrew, Richard and Emma, a much adored Granny of Charlie, Amy, Adam (deceased), Timothy, Daniel, Rebecca, Joshua, Zachary, Nathan, Natalie and Curtis and dearest Sister of James, Desmond, Sammy, Sheila, Lorna, Harvey and Robert. Funeral from her home on Saturday at 12.30pm to Calvary Free Presbyterian Church for A Service of Thanksgiving at 1.00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Forever loved and sadly missed by her sorrowing Husband, Family and Family Circle.
Dolores Montague (née Holden), 8 Dunraven Park, Foyle Springs, Derry
The death has taken place of Dolores Montague (née Holden), 17th November 2022, (peacefully) at home, beloved wife of the late David, 8 Dunraven Park, Foyle Springs, loving mother of Colleen and Paul, devoted grandmother of Rachel, Steven, Kyle, Emily and Laura, mother-in-law of Paige, grandmother-in-law of Tony and dear sister of Jackie, Sharon and the late Samuel, Ronnie, Ann, Vera, Peka, Eileen and Raymond and a much loved aunt. Dolores’ wake will commence on Saturday at 12noon. Funeral from her home on Monday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. The Mass will be streamed live via the church webcam. Family flowers only please. William (Willie) McLaughlin, 11 Crawford Square, Derry
The death has taken place of William (Willie) McLaughlin, 17th November 2022, (peacefully) at his home, 11 Crawford Square, surrounded by family and friends, (formerly of William Street), beloved husband of Brigid, loving father of Ellen, Myles, Philip and Thomas, devoted grandfather of Beth, Bonnie, Lucas, Liam, Emmet, Medina and Cairo, loving son of the late Danny and Mary, a loving brother of Carol, Tom, Catherine, Anne, Norah and the late Philip and Donal, dear father-in-law to Stephen, Liesbet, Dina and Nando and uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Funeral leaving his home on Monday, 21st November at 10.20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if wished, to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry. Wake on Friday and Saturday from 3.00pm to 8.00pm only. No wake on Sunday. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. May Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.
Dorothy Smyth (née Starrett), 7 Whitehill Road, Eglinton
The death has taken place of Dorothy Smyth (née Starrett), 17th November 2022, (suddenly) at her home 7 Whitehill Road, Eglinton. Beloved wife of Peter, loving mother of Ryan and Felicity, mother-in-law of Julie-Ann, a much loved grandmother of James and Harry. Dear sister of Elizabeth, Hazel, Kenneth, and Keith. Deeply regretted by all the family circle. House strictly private please. Funeral will leave from her home on Sunday at 1.30pm for committal service in Ballyoan Cemetery at 2.00pm. The Lord is my Shepherd.
William Wray, 40 Carmoney Road, Eglinton
The death has taken place of William Wray, 17th November 2022, beloved husband of Catriona, 40 Carmoney Road, Eglinton, loving father of Karen and Edward, cherished son of John and Marie Wray, dear brother of Julie and David, son-in-law of Eddie and Ellen McDonagh and a much loved brother-in-law and uncle. William’s wake will take place on Friday from 7.30pm to 10.00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12.00pm – 9.00pm. Funeral from his home on Monday at 11.45am for 12.30pm funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. Interment afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
