Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Raymond Ferry, 60 Gleneagles, Derry
The death has taken place of Raymond Ferry, 19th January 2023, beloved husband of Lucia, 60 Gleneagles, loving father of Christina, father-in-law of Stewart, devoted grandfather of Iona and Oran, son of the late Kathleen and William (Bill) and a much loved brother and uncle. Raymond’s wake will take place in his home on Saturday and Sunday from 11.00am to 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Monday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. St Pio intercede for him.
Satnam Singh Gill, 51 Beragh Hill Road, Derry
We regret to inform that Satnam Singh Gill sadly passed away on 30th December 2022 (aged 67). Son of late Darshan Singh Gill and late Swaran Kaur Gill. Beloved husband of Satvir Kaur Gill. Loving brother of Ajit Singh (Peter), Nirmal Kaur and Gian Kaur. Wonderful brother-in-law to Primaljit. Devoted father and Uncle of Ropie, Babu, Lisa, Raja, Sahib and Joban. Loved by all his family and friends and will be sorely missed. Service will take place in Lakelands Crematorium, Co. Cavan at 12.00noon on Sunday, 22nd January. During the Sikh prayer service it is usual to have head coverings, should you wish to do so scarves and hats are advised. There will be a wake between 2.00pm and 6.00pm on Saturday, 21st January at the family home, 51 Beragh Hill Road. For those who would like to pay their respects and are unable to make it to the crematorium please know that you are welcome to come to the family home. Oliver George Hodkinson, 17 Colby Avenue, Culmore Road, Derry
The death has occurred of Oliver George Hodkinson, 20th January 2023, (peacefully) at Edenvale Care Home, Limavady, loving husband of Fidelma, 17 Colby Avenue, Culmore Road, loving father of Clare and John, father-in-law of Iain and Tina, devoted grandfather of Rebecca, Christopher, Daniel and Alexander, and dear brother of Emily, Christopher, Stephen, Mary, Edmund, Michael and Geraldine. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O'Brien & Son's Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU on Saturday from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. His remains will then repose at his home on Sunday from 3.00pm - 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Monday at 11.20am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family time please from 9.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Sylvia McKeegan B.E.M. (aged 97), 19th January 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin hospital, beloved wife of the late Wilfred, loving mother of Bob and Geraldine, dear mother in law of Jo, devoted grandmother of Christopher, Matthew, Craig and Kate and great grandmother of Alice, Ben and Anna. House private please. Funeral service in Clooney Hall Methodist Church at 1.30pm on Sunday, 22nd January followed by burial in Altnagelvin cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if wished to Clooney Hall, Methodist Church c/ o Mr J Duff 2B Station Road Eglinton BT47 3PR. Deeply regretted by her loving family circle.
John Morrow, Ballykelly
The death has taken place of John Morrow (formerly of Ballykelly), 18th January 2023, (peacefully) at his home in Birmingham, beloved husband of the late Pauline, loving father of Shaun, William, Sarah and the late Sharon, a devoted grandfather and dear brother of Anna (Forrest), Bridget (O'Kane), Marie (Hasson), Liam and Patrick. Funeral arrangements later. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
