The following deaths have occurred:-
Marian Deane (née Gallagher), Derry
The death has occurred of Marian Deane (née Gallagher), 25th August 2023, peacefully in the Foyle Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly beloved mother of Colin and Adam, devoted Granny of Oliver and Noah, mother-in-law of Claire and loving sister of Charlie, Eileen, Dessie, Damian and Anita. Will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and wider family circle. May she Rest In Eternal Peace. Marian's remains will be reposing in her home from 5.00pm on Saturday. Funeral from there on Monday, 28th August at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her Soul. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary intercede for him.
Letitia Hutchinson (née Parke), 51 Kevin Lynch Park, Dungiven
We regret to inform the death has taken place of Letitia Hutchinson (née Parke), (peacefully) at Foyle Hospice on 24th August 2023. May she rest in peace. Late of 51 Kevin Lynch Park, Dungiven, Co Derry. Cherished wife of Paul. Loving mother of Leah and Emer. Beloved daughter of Deirdre and the late Derek R.I.P and dear sister of Clodagh and Jeannine. Fond daughter in law of Eileen and Willie. Deeply regretted by the entire family circle. Family flowers only please donations if wished in lieu to MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association). Wake strictly private as Letitia’s wished. A remembrance service will take place for Letitia at a later date. Private cremation will take on Saturday 26th of August at Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan.
Angela Madden, Lakeview Shore Road, Toomebridge
The death has taken place of Angela Madden, 24th August 2023, beloved daughter of the late John and Mary (nee McKavanagh), and cherished sister of Deirdre. Requiem Mass on Saturday at Church of the Sacred Heart Cargin at 2.00pm, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. St Francis of Assisi pray for her. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sister, brother in law Harry (Clifton) and extended family circle. House private.
Ryan Moore, 47 Coolessan Walk, Limavady
The death has taken place of Ryan Moore, 24th August 2023, beloved son of Iris and the late Brendan and dear brother of the late Dominic. His remains will be reposing in his home, 47 Coolessan Walk, Limavady from 2.00pm on Saturday. Funeral from there on Sunday at 8.30am for 9o’clock funeral mass in Christ The King Church, Limavady followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Hugh McLaughlin, 164 Pollys Brae Road, Drum
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Hugh McLaughlin, (peacefully) at home surrounded by his loving family on 25th August 2023. May he rest in peace. Late of 164 Pollys Brae Road, Drum, Co.Derry. Beloved husband of Jean. Loving father of Kevin, Danny and Colleen. Devoted grandfather of Matthew, Charlie, Emily, Jessica, Alexander, Ruby, Heidi and Thea. Dear brother of Tommy, Claire and the late Mary, Martha, Annie, Dan , Sean, Paddy, Steve, Hugh, Marcella, Martin, Micky, Annie and Jim R.I.P. Reposing at his late home. Funeral from his late home on Sunday, 27th August leaving at 11.20am for 12noon Requiem Mass in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Gortnaghey. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only please, donations if wished in lieu to Foyle hospice c/o McLaughlin Funeral Directors. George O'Kane, 34 Dunlade Road, Greysteel
The death has occurred of George O'Kane, 24th August 2023, beloved husband of Collette, 34 Dunlade Road, Greysteel, loving father of Patrick and Cathal and much loved son of the late Geordie and Margaret. His remains are reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Sunday at 11.20am for 12o’clock funeral Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Isabella (Iris) O'Neill, 28 Blucher Street, Derry
The death has occurred of Isabella (Iris) O'Neill, 24th August 2023, (peacefully) at Templemoyle Care Home, (formerly of Eglinton Place), beloved daughter of the late Johnnie and Annie, loving sister of Ted and the late Jack, Joe, Jim, George, Paddy, Alec and Tony and a cherished aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Iris will be reposing at her home, 28 Blucher Street, from 5.00pm on Sunday, 27th August. Funeral leaving her home on Monday, 28th August at 9.20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10.00am followed later by a private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Co. Cavan. Christine Sheehan (née O’Grady), 65 Elmgrove, Derry
The death has taken place of Christine Sheehan (née O’Grady), 25th August 2023, (peacefully) at her home, 65 Elmgrove, (formerly of Larkhill), beloved wife of Joe, loving mother of Gerry and Declan, devoted grandmother of Thi-Lana, darling daughter of the late Gerry and Margaret, dear and loving sister of Geraldine, Phyllis, Bernadette, Brendan, Kevin, Toirealach and the late Michael and Maureen, a cherished aunt to all her nieces and nephews and a dear mother-in-law to Róisín and Tracy. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving her home on Monday, 28th August at 10.20am to St. Brigid’s Church, Carnhill for Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. House private please from 10 00pm to 10.00am. The death has taken place of William James (Jim) Smallwoods, 24th August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by his loving family in his 85th year) beloved husband of Ethel, devoted father of Sharon, Gordon and Robert, dear father-in-law of Linda and Gail, much loved grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, dearest brother of Irene, Clive, Lorna and the late Ronnie. Service of Thanksgiving for his life in his late home, 5 Conifer Avenue, Woodburn, on Sunday, 27th August at 1.45pm followed by burial in Glendermott Presbyterian Church Burial Ground. Family time from 9.00pm until 11.00am.
