The following deaths have occurred:-
Bridie McMonagle (née McNulty), 67 Ardnamoyle Park, Derry
The death has occurred of Bridie McMonagle (née McNulty), 4th May 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of the late Hugh, loving mother of Marie and Martin, dear mother-in-law of Liam and Katriona, devoted grandmother of Amy, Liam Og and Lauren, loving sister of Eleanor, Philomena, Joe, Patrick, Denis and the late Mary and Jimmy, and a dear sister-in-law. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving her home, 67 Ardnamoyle Park on Sunday, 7th May at 11.30am to Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Steelstown for Requiem Mass at 12.15pm. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for her.
Kathy Murray (née McKinney), Derry
The death has taken place of Kathy Murray (née McKinney), 5th May 2023, loving mother of Aisling, Michelle, Vanessa and Natasha, devoted grandmother of Gary, Meghan, Luke, Alannah, Lewis and Holly, great-grandmother of Shea, daughter of the late Tony and Margaret McKinney (Shantallow) and dear sister of Yvonne, Sinead, Raphel and the late Maria. Deeply missed by all her family and friends. Her remains will be reposing in her daughter’s home, 26 Ballyarnett Village, BT48 8SB, on Saturday from 5.00pm. Funeral from there on Monday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 9.00pm to 12noon. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Anne O'Kane (née McLaughlin), 3 Aldrin Pass, Derry
The death has occurred of Anne O'Kane (née McLaughlin), 5th May 2023, (peacefully) at home, beloved wife of Martin, 3 Aldrin Pass, loving mother of Frank, Emma and Lindsey, a devoted grandmother and dear sister of John, Charlie, Nuala and the late Eleanor. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Sunday at 9.15am for 9.45am funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Joe Scanlon, 6 Lenamore Gardens, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Joe Scanlon, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin hospital, surrounded by all of his loving family on 5th May 2023. Late of 6 Lenamore Gardens. May he rest in peace. Beloved and much loved husband of Eileen. Devoted father of Sharon, Joseph, Katrina and Michael. Loving granda of Brian, Niall, Stephen, Jack, Kirstie, Aaron, Joseph, Adam, Jonah, Kayleigh, Luke, Michael and Ellie. A much loved great-granda of Faith, Brooke, Cohen, Rhea, Erica, Sam, Aoibhe and Olivia. Dearest brother of Dolores and the late Annie, Peggy, Collette and Abraham. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Joe’s remains will be reposing at his late family residence, 6 Lenamore Gardens. Funeral leaving from there on Monday, 8th May at 9.20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Anna (Jo) (Née Traill) Simpson, late of Saintfield
The death has taken place of Anna (Jo) (née Traill), 4th May 2023, (peacefully) at Beechill Nursing Home, late of Saintfield. Dearly loved wife of the late Bob and dear sister of the late Bill and Jimmy. Service of Thanksgiving will be held at Roselawn Crematorium on Saturday, 13th May 2023 at 1.20pm. No flowers please. Lovingly remembered by Anthony and Maureen Wilson and the entire family circle.
