Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Davis Craig, 77 Castle Park, Limavady
The death has taken place of Davis Craig, (peacefully) passed away on 11th February 2023 at Causeway Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Much loved husband of Jean and loving father of Steven and Jonathan, dear father in law of Pamela and Amanda devoted grandfather of Rachel, Aaron, Jason, Leah, Caleb dear brother of Betty and the late Gilmore. Family and close friends welcome to call at his home, 77 Castle Park, Limavady. Funeral service will be held in Limavady Gospel Hall on Monday at 2.00pm followed by burial in Drumachose Presbyterian Church burial ground. (All welcome to attend). Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to Lord's Work Trust and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est. Aghanloo Road, Limavady. Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his entire family circle.
Daniel McCartney, 16 Buncrana Road, Derry
The death has taken place of Daniel McCartney, 11th February 2023, at his home, 16 Buncrana Road, Derry and formerly of Moville. Much loved father of John, Ann, Alice, Cathy, Dermot, Margaret, Ursula and Daniel and brother of the late Greta, Mary, Sadie, Patrick, Anna, Philomena, John, Eileen and Rose. Reposing at his home on Sunday (February 12th) from 2.00pm. Funeral leaving his home on Tuesday (February 14th) at 11.20am for cremation in Lakelands Crematorium at 2.00pm. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family circle. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am and on the morning of the funeral.
Ethna McLaughlin (née Devine), formerly of Simpsons Brae, Derry
The death has taken place of Ethna McLaughlin (née Devine), 11th February 2023, (peacefully) at Edenballymore Lodge Care Home, (formerly of Simpsons Brae), beloved wife of the late Barry, a dear and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and aunt. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving her son’s home, 32 Liscannor Park, Foyle Springs on Monday, 13th February at 9.20am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for her.
Robert (Rory) Quigley, 26 Bracken Park, Derry
The death has taken place of Robert (Rory) Quigley, 11th February 2023, beloved husband of the late Kathleen, 26 Bracken Park, loving father of Christopher, Ann, Margaret, Celene, Mary, Rory, Gerry, Cathy, Richard, David and the late Danny and James and a much loved father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Monday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Galliagh. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Mary Bernadette (Myra) Sweeney, 2A Kenmare Park, Foyle Springs, Derry
The death has occurred of Mary Bernadette (Myra) Sweeney, 9th February 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital. Dearly beloved wife of the late Don, a much-loved sister of the late Jim, Joe, and Patricia, a loving aunt and great aunt. Myra will leave Adair and Neely Funeral Home on Sunday, 12th February at 3.00pm to rest in her Late home, 2A Kenmare Park, Foyle Springs, where Myra's Wake will take place between 5.00pm to 10.00pm. Family time please on morning of funeral. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, 13th February at 12.30pm in Holy Family Church followed by burial in the City Cemetery. Myra will be sadly missed by her entire family circle and friends.
