The following deaths have occurred:-
Eileen Costello (née McBride), Culmore Manor Care Home, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Eileen Costello (née McBride), peacefully at Culmore Manor Care Home, on 12th January 2024. May she rest in peace. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Gerard and treasured aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her family circle and friends. Eileen’s remains will be reposing at Culmore Manor Care Home. Her remains will leave from there on Sunday, 14th January at 4.30pm to arrive at St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road at 5.00pm to repose overnight. Eileen’s Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, 15th January at 10.00am. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. John Deehan, 17 Edenmore Park, Limavady
The death has occurred of the late John Deehan, 13th January 2024, suddenly at his home 17 Edenmore Park, Limavady. Beloved father of Kevin, Lee and Jason. A much loved grandfather of Kyle, Christopher, Jack, Aaron, Kelsie, Belle, Joshua, Alexis, Logan, and Kaiya. Loving brother of Ann, Joe, Gerald, Lawrence, Frances, Michael, Jacqueline, Marian, Colette and Ronan, and the late Martin, and Catherine R.I.P. Dear friend of Jessie and Shaun. Patrick (PJ) Doyle, 3 Westland Street, Derry
The death has taken place of Patrick (PJ) Doyle, 13th January 2024, suddenly at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved partner of Kathleen, loving father of Rosaire, Patrick, Denis and Pauline, devoted grandfather to Aaron, Laura, Sarah, Aidan, Dylan, Caitlin, Eoin, dear step-father to Sean, grandfather to Caitlin and Fionn and great-grandfather to Kayla, cherished brother of Masie, Annie, Delia, Mary, Joyce and the late Christine. Will be sadly missed by Margaret, the wider family circle and all his friends. Wake will commence on Sunday, 14th January at 3.00pm until 10.00pm and on Monday from 11.00am to 10.00pm. Funeral leaving his home, 3 Westland Street, on Tuesday, 16th January at 12.20pm to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 1.00pm, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium. Mary Elizabeth Hyndman, 42 Gulladuff Road, Maghera
The death has taken place of Mary Elizabeth Hyndman, 13th January 2024, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital, dearly beloved Wife of the late Robert Henry, 42 Gulladuff Road, Maghera, much loved Mother of Rhonda, Giles, Elizabeth and James, a dear Mother-in-Law of Gillian and John and a devoted Granny of Elisha, Grace, Benaiah and Rebekah. House private. Funeral service in Knockloughrim Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, 16th January at 1.00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Rosemary Johnstone (née Crooks), 34 Longtower Court, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Rosemary Johnstone (née Crooks), peacefully at Deanfield Care Home, on 13th January 2024. Late of 34 Longtower Court. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Collie. Devoted mother of Jonathan, Jean, Colm and Lillian. Dearest mother-in-law of Jackie, Gary, Joanne and Vincent. Loving granny of Kerry, Jack, Jenny, Lee, Megan, Darragh and Rhea. A much loved great-granny of Maisie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle and friends. The death has taken place of Matt McColgan, 12th January 2024, peacefully at home, 7 Fr. Mulvey Park, surrounded by his beloved and much-loved wife and daughter, beloved husband of Hilda and a loving father of Julie. Removal leaving his home on Sunday 14th January at 6:00pm to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass on Monday at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Scott (née McQuade), 13th January 2024, beloved wife of the late John and loving mother of Hilary, John, Astrid, Ann, Fiona, Terry, Nicola and Gareth, daughter of the late Margaret and Johnny and dear sister of the late Jim, Gabriel and Eamonn. Funeral from her home, 1 Craigmore Road on Tuesday, 16th January for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St Patrick Glen, interment afterwards in cemetery at Church of St. John the Baptist Granaghan.
