The following deaths have occurred:-
Simon William Bennett, 126 Kinsale Park, Caw
The death has occurred of Simon William Bennett, 20th July 2023, (suddenly but peacefully) at his home, 126 Kinsale Park, Caw, much loved partner of Pauline, precious son of Deborah, devoted dad of Matthew, loving brother of Maxine, dear step-dad of Caitlain, Rhianna and Rhys. Funeral service in his late home on Tuesday, 25th July at 10.00am followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired, to Chest, Heart and Stroke c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing family circle. To know him was to love him.
Frank Brolly, 62 Main Street, Feeny
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Frank Brolly (peacefully) with his loving family by his side at Altnagelvin Hospital I.C.U on 22nd July 2023. May he rest in peace. Late of 62 Main Street, Feeny, Co Derry. Beloved husband of the late Patricia R.I.P and loving father of Francine (Declan), Sonia (Paul), Ashlyn, Nicola (Paddy) and Stephanie (Brian). Devoted grandfather of Cahán, Caolán, Meaghan, Caitlin, Patrick, Jack, Abbie, Corey, Faye, Ava and Sé and great grandfather of Carrick. Beloved son of the late Margaret and Patrick Brolly R.I.P and dear brother of Oliver, Lily and the late Mary and Annie R.I.P. Deeply regretted by his nieces, nephews, sister in law and brothers in law. Reposing at his late home. Frank’s wake will commence on Sunday, 23rd July at 12noon to 10.00pm. Family time please morning of the funeral. Funeral from his late home on Monday, 24th July leaving at 10.15am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Banagher. Jacqueline Doherty (née O'Donnell), 40 Westlake, Strathfoyle, Derry
The death has taken place of Jacqueline Doherty (née O'Donnell), 19th July 2023, beloved wife of Stephen, 40 Westlake, loving mother of Ryan, Shane and Sarah, cherished daughter of Geraldine and the late Noel, dear sister of Shauna, Kerry, Noel and Cara and a much loved aunt. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Monday at 12.20am for 1o’clock Requiem Mass in St Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Strathfoyle. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Teresa Gillespie (née McCarney), Lettershandoney
The death has taken place of Teresa Gillespie (née McCarney), 21st July 2023, formerly of Lettershandoney and Ardlough Care Home, loving mother of Peter, Keith and Laura, mother-in-law of Leona and Declan, devoted granny of Farrah, Liam and Eva, cherished partner of Harry and dear sister of Maria, Diane, Patricia, Kevin, Caroline, Loretta, Rosetta and Brendan. Her remains will be reposing in her daughter’s home, 19 Ervey Court, Tamnaherin. Funeral from there on Monday at 10.40am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Denise Gilmartin (née Hoy), 7 Mount Vernon, Culmore, Derry
The death has occurred of Denise Gilmartin (née Hoy), 22nd July 2023, (peacefully) at her home, 7 Mount Vernon, Culmore, surrounded by her loving family, (formerly of Lurgan), beloved wife of James, loving mother of Eimear and Maeve, cherished daughter of Colum and Bronagh, dear and loving sister of Aileen and Gerald, and a dear a devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle and her many friends. Denise will be reposing at her home on Saturday, 22nd July from 7 00pm. Funeral leaving her home on Monday, 24th July at 9.20am to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if wished, to the M.S. Society, The Resource Centre, 34 Annadale Avenue, Belfast, BT7 3JJ. Family time please from 10.00pm to 12.00noon. Norman Hamilton, 56 Kildoag Road, Derry
The death has taken place of Norman Hamilton, 22nd July 2023, (peacefully) at his home, 56 Kildoag Road, Derry (surrounded by his loving family in his 68th year) much loved husband of Irene, devoted dad of Gary, Keith and Helena, loving father-in-law of Josephine, Suzie and Jayde, adored granda of Alix, Adrianna, Jake and Levi, dearest brother of George, Rita, Jean and the late Ernest, Billy and Evelyn. Funeral leaving his late home on Monday, 24th July at 1.45pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in Cumber Presbyterian Church (Brackfield) at 2.15pm burial afterwards in Upper Cumber Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Foyle Hospice c/o Mrs. Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ.Very deeply regretted and will be lovingly remembered by his entire family circle.
