The following deaths have occurred:-
Gillian Judith Baird (née Crawford), Derry
The death has taken place of Gillian Judith Baird (née Crawford), 30th November 2023, passed away calmly and peacefully while family was visiting to say farewell. Beloved wife of David St Clair Baird (deceased). Much loved sister of John, sister in law to Ann, aunt to David and Jane. Beloved mum of Iain (deceased), Alasdair and Stuart. Much loved mother in law of Beate and Joelle. Lovely granny to Thomas, Sarah and Luc. House private, no flowers. Funeral service on Friday, 8th December at 12 midday in Adair & Neely Funeral Directors 10-12 Foyle Road, followed by burial at Ballyoan Cemetery, 45 Rossdowney Road, Derry. Donation in lieu of flowers may be given to Ulster Wildlife via Adair & Neely Funeral Directors.
Kathleen Boden (née O'Kane), formerly of St Canice's Close, Eglinton
The death has occurred of Kathleen Boden (née O'Kane), 1st December 2023, peacefully at Longfield Care Home, formerly of St Canice's Close, Eglinton, beloved wife of the late Tony, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret O’Kane (Strathfoyle) loving sister of Bridget, Bernie, Vincent and the late John, Annie, Celine, Michael, Teresa and Paul and a much loved aunt and great-aunt. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU on Sunday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Ardmore on Monday at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Margaret Irwine (née Curry), 17 Poplar Road, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Margaret Irwine (née Curry), peacefully at Altnagelvin hospital, surrounded by her loving family on 1st December 2023. Formerly of 17 Poplar Road. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Lenny. Devoted mother of Colin, Jacqueline, Peter and the late Lenny and Mandy. A much loved mother-in-law of Linda, Yvonne, Cathal and Mickie. Loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her brothers, sisters, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Margaret’s remains will be reposing at her daughter Jacqueline's residence, 13 Oak Country Manor. Funeral leaving from there on Monday, 4th December at 11.15am for 12.00pm Requiem Mass in The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. The death has occurred of Letitia (Letty) McGill/Marshall, 2nd December 2023, (peacefully) at Causeway Hospital, 714 Farranseer Park, Macosquin, dearly loved wife of the late John, a much loved mother of Sally, Jenny, Cathy and the late Geoffrey, a dearly beloved grandmother of Ryan, Steven, Christopher, Lisa, Richard and their respective partners, also a loving great-grandmother to Rylee, Ava, Carter, Grace, Priya and Caleb. The death has taken place of Gordon Maker Mills, 1st December 2023, peacefully at his home, 4 Rushcroft Close, Lisnagelvin (surrounded by his loving family in his 87th year) much loved husband of June, devoted dad of Thomas, Alan and Judith, loving father-in-law of Ian and Marty, adored granda of Stephen, Matthew, Kate, Hannah, Okan, Paddy and Dafydd. Funeral leaving his late home on Monday, 4th December at 12noon followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in All Saints’ Clooney Parish Church at 12.30pm, burial afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery.
