The death has occurred of the late Elizabeth Davidson (née Cassidy), 15th January 2024, (suddenly but peacefully) beloved wife of Liam, much loved mother of Laoise (Mawhinney), Shaun, Majella (Wilson) and Cormac, loving sister of Eleanor (Mc Guigan), Cathy (Kearney), Kevin, Paula (McAtamney) and the late Siobhan (McClements) and dear daughter of the late Harry and Jeannie. Elizabeth’s wake will officially begin in her late residence, 104 Ballynease Road, Portglenone / Bellaghy, on Thursday, 18th January at 10.00am. Her remains will leave her late residence on Saturday, 20th January at 10.15am for 11.00am Requiem Mass (which can be viewed via the parish webcam) in St Mary’s Church, Bellaghy, burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, sons, daughters, sons in law, daughters in law, brother, sisters, brothers in law, sister in law, grandchildren Connor, Lonan, Saorla, Lily, Teagan and Rosa and all the family circle. Brigid Gillen (née Loane), Magherafelt
The death has taken place of Brigid Gillen (née Loane), 16th January 2024, beloved wife of the late Arthur Gillen and loving mother of Gerard, Francis, Margaret (Neeson) and Martin, mother in law of Maureen, Linda, Alistair and the late Maryann. Daughter of the late Brigid and Frank Loane and loving sister of Harry, Joe and the late Frankie. Viewing at McCusker Bros Funeral Home, 10 Garden Street on Thursday, 18th January from 6.00pm to 8.00 pm. Funeral from her home on Friday, 19th January at 10.30am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and via webcam - Magherafelt parish. Interment afterwards in the cemetery at the Church of St John, Milltown. Deeply regretted by her sons, daughter, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren Deirdre (David), Niamh and Rory, nephews and nieces and her extended family circle. Our Lady of Knock pray for her. Liam Heaney, Philadelphia (formerly Magherafelt)
The death has occurred of the late Liam Heaney, 76, of Philadelphia, PA, born and raised in Magherafelt, County Derry, died at Abington Hospital on 11th January 2024 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Kathleen (née Scanlon), devoted son Sean, and sister Betty Heaney Black. He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary (née McCann), sister Geraldine Boyle and her husband Eugene, nephew Eugene Boyle, George Black, Marrion Scanlon, Ann Scanlon, and John James Scanlon. He is also survived by Colleen Boyle, Lisa (Jack) Morrisey, Michelle Boyle Wolf, David Boyle, Meghan Boyle Griffiths, Lynn Black, Mark Black, Patrick Scanlon, Anthony Scanlon, Monica Scanlon (John Veneziale), Brian Scanlon (Janet), Linda Clark (Michael), Kevin Scanlon (Jennifer), many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Paul McGarvey, 15 Rock Road, Derry
The death has taken place of Paul McGarvey, 12th January 2024, suddenly at his home, 15 Rock Road, Derry. Father of Nathan, Declan, Emily and Rebecca. Beloved son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth. R.I.P. Dear brother of Seamus, Ann, Betty, Harry, Frances, John, Andrew, Margory, Evelyn, Gretta and Martin. The death has taken place of Johnny McGonigle, 15th January 2024, beloved son of the late Rose and John, 14 Summerhill Grove, Belmont, loving brother of Marie, Rosaleen, Kathleen and the late Joe and a much loved uncle and great-uncle. Teresa McGuigan (née Mulhern), 3 Dernflaw Cottages, Dungiven
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Teresa McGuigan (née Mulhern), suddenly but peacefully, on 17th January 2024. May she rest in peace. Late of 3 Dernflaw Cottages, Dungiven, Co Derry. Wife of the late Paddy R.I.P. Beloved daughter of the late Michael and Patricia R.I.P and loving sister of Gerard (Grace), John (Annemarie ) and the late Mickey R.I.P. Much loved Grandfather of Dexter, Grayson and Myla-mae. Beloved son of Pamela (née Jordan) and the Late John. Loving brother of Damien, Shaun, Patrick, Elaine, Gary, Sharon and the Late Kieran and Stephen. Funeral from his Mother's home, 26 Marianus Park on Friday at 9.20am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.
