The following deaths have occurred:-
Billy Duddy, Limavady
The death has taken place of Billy Duddy, 18th October 2023, beloved husband of Edna, loving father of James, Paul, Sharon and the late Paddy and Darrell, a much loved grandfather and great-grandfather, son of the late Willie and Jane and dear brother of Josephine, Sean, Packie and the late Eileen and Gerard. House private please. Funeral from his home on Friday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Limavady. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Sarah (Sally) Houston (née Reid), 26 Buskin Way, Coleraine
The death has occurred of the late Sarah (Sally) Houston (née Reid), 17th October 2023, peacefully at Causeway Hospital, Coleraine. Sarah (Sally), 26 Buskin Way, Coleraine. Dearly beloved wife of the late Hugh, much loved mother of Kim, Barbara, Aaron and Samantha; mother-in-law of Leslie, Barry and Richard; devoted grandmother of Christopher, Nicholas, Michael, Jamie, Rebekah, Peter, Joe and Eve; and a dearly adored great-grandmother. Service of Thanksgiving in Terrace Row Presbyterian Church, on Saturday at 11.00am followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery. House Private. Family flowers only please. Joyanne Foy (née Gillespie), Derry (formerly Tullaghan, Co Leitrim)
The death has occurred of Joanne Foy (née Gillespie), 14th October 2023, (Derry and formerly Tullaghan, Co Leitrim), unexpectedly. Much loved mother of Aisling, Eóin, Connor and Niall, wife of Desmond and daughter of the late Frankie and Betty. She will be sadly missed by her sons, daughter, and son-in-law Kieran, and her three grandchildren Kayleigh, Adam and Kiera. As well as her extended family, friends and all who knew her. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace Joy's Funeral Mass will be held privately for family and close friends only please on Friday, 20th October in St Patrick's Church, Belleek at 11.00am followed by burial alongside her beloved Parents in the adjoining cemetery.
Geraldine (Geri) Montgomery, 198 Clon Dara, Derry
The death has occurred of Geraldine (Geri) Montgomery, 17th October 2023, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved partner of Paddy, loving mother of Stephen, Leane, Kevin and Lauren, devoted grandmother of Evelyn, Ruairí, Casidhe and Oisín, dear and loving sister of Cecilia and mother-in-law of Lauren. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle and her many friends, especially her best friend Caroline and her partner Mick. Funeral leaving her home, 198 Clon Dara on Sunday, 22nd October at 11.35am to St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh for Funeral Mass at 12.15pm, followed by a private cremation later. Geri’s wake will commence from 7.00pm today (Thursday) and she has requested that anyone attending the wake or funeral do not wear black. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. St. Christopher pray for her.
James (Jim) Smyth, 200 Primity Crescent, Newbuildings
The death has taken place of James (Jim) Smyth, 17th October 2023, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast (formerly of 200 Primity Crescent, Newbuildings). Dearly beloved husband of Ruby. A much loved Father of Robert, Richard, Alison and Leslie. Father-in-law of Gail, Rachel, Keith and Emma and a devoted grandfather and great grandfather. A loving brother of Lilah, Jackie, May, Ina, Archie and the late Billy. A funeral service will take place on Friday, 20th October 2023 at 2.00pm in Glendermott Parish Church followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family time only please between the hours of 9.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only. Donations if wished in lieu of flowers to Glendermott Parish Church. Gerald McLaughlin, 287 Lecky Road, Derry
The death has taken place of Gerald McLaughlin, 18th October 2023, at Foyle Hospice. Beloved Husband of Margaret. Loving father of Andrew, Sinead, Tony, DJ, Gerald, Michelle and Blake. A much loved Grandfather, father in law and a dear brother to his brothers and sisters. Funeral from his home, 287 Lecky Road on Friday, 20th October at 9.20am St Columb's Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Andree Weaver, Derry
The death has taken place of Andree Weaver, 15th October 2023, beloved daughter of the late Aubrey and Mary, formerly of 22 Ardglen Park and Clarendon Street. A service of committal will take place in Raphoe Presbyterian burying ground on Friday at 1.00pm. The Lord is my shepherd.
