Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Celine Cassidy, Windsor Terrace, Derry
The death has taken place of Celine Cassidy, 11th May 2023, (peacefully) at Northampton General Hospital, late of Windsor Terrace, Derry, devoted partner of Trevor, beloved daughter of the late Lily and Raymond, loving sister of Marie, Ann, Geraldine, Bernadette, Raymond, Christopher, Martina, Aileen and the late James-Patrick and a much loved aunt and great-aunt. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Eugene's Cathedral on Friday at 10am followed by interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Martin McSheffrey, Derry
The death has taken place of Martin McSheffrey, 20th May 2023, (suddenly) at his home, beloved son of Kathleen and the late Denis, loving father of Graham and Darryl, a much loved grandfather and dear brother of Gloria, Denise, John and Mark. Sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral arrangements later from his mother’s home, 1 Drumleck Drive, Shantallow. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Maurice Edgar Taylor OBE, 'Hillcrest', 24 Tobermore Road, Draperstown
The death has taken place of Maurice Edgar Taylor OBE, 24th May 2023, (suddenly) at his home, 'Hillcrest', 24 Tobermore Road, Draperstown, dearly loved Husband of the late Sylvia, much loved Father of Dorothy, Margaret, Linda, Jayne and Joseph, a dear Father-in-Law of James (Henderson), Steve (Dunning), Nigel (Woodward), Pauline and the late Ivan (Kelly), beloved Granda of Catherine, Jill, Michael, Peter, Andrew, Mark, Jonathan, Sam, Jack and Rosie, Great Grandfather to his 10 Great Grandchildren and dearest Brother of Ivy, Anna and Will. House strictly private. Funeral service at his home on Friday, 26th May, commencing at 2.30pm (all welcome to attend), followed by burial in St. Columba's Parish Churchyard, Ballynascreen, Draperstown. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, payable to D. Watters (Donations A/c), 55 Main Street, Tobermore Magherafelt BT45 5PP.
