The following deaths have occurred:-
Dean Averill, 78 Greenvale Park, Magherafelt
The death has taken place of Dean Averill, 14th October 2023, (suddenly) 78 Greenvale Park, Magherafelt, dearly loved and devoted son of Beanie, loving brother of Simone and also a much loved nephew and cousin. Family and friends welcome at his home. Funeral service in his home on Wednesday (18th October) at 1.00pm followed by burial in Polepatrick Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donations A/c.), 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP. Always loved and remembered by his mother, sister and the entire family circle. “In silence he suffered, with patience he bore, till God called him homeward to suffer no more.”
Amanda Sophia Clarke (née Gibson), 2 Gortagilly Road, Moneymore
The death has occurred of the late Amanda Sophia Clarke (née Gibson), 16th October 2023, (peacefully) at The Milesian Manor Nursing Home, Magherafelt, (in her 96th year), dearly beloved Wife of the late Norman, 2 Gortagilly Road, Moneymore, much loved Mother of Norma, Victor and Denis, a dear Mother-in-Law of John, Brenda and Wilma, devoted Nana of Lindsey, Dylan, Megan and Justin and dearest Sister of the late Tillie, Eleanor, Maggie, Lizzie, Noelle, Matt, Olive and Sammy. All welcome at the Family home. Funeral from her home on Wednesday, 18th October at 1.30pm, to St. John’s Parish Church, Moneymore for service at 2.00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Celine Fahy, 124 Creggan Heights, Derry
The death has taken place of Celine Fahy, 14th October 2023, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, loving mother of Ciaran, Ryan and the late Brian, devoted grandmother of Aaliylha and Ryan and dear sister of John, James, Mary and the late Brian and Margaret. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 124 Creggan Heights. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Creggan. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Margaret Lumsden (née Tonner), Colburn, England
The death has occurred of Margaret Lumsden (née Tonner), 5th October 2023, peacefully at her home in Colburn, England, beloved wife of the late John and a much-loved mum, grandma, sister and aunt. Funeral leaving her niece Maureen’s home, 7 Upper Bennett Street, on Wednesday, 18th October at 9.30am to St. Columba’s Church for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Maureen will be reposing at 7 Upper Bennett Street on Tuesday from 10.00am until 7.30pm. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for her.
Margo McCallion (née Doherty), 5 Glasgow Street, Derry
The death has taken place of Margo McCallion (née Doherty),16th October 2023, beloved wife of Paul, loving mother of Kellie, Julie and Paul, devoted grandmother of Paul, Shea, Darcie and Toni, a cherished mother-in-law, sister and auntie. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 5 Glasgow Street. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Eugene’s Cathedral. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Margaret McGilloway (née Nash), formerly of Mount Vernon, Derry
The death has taken place of Margaret McGilloway (née Nash), 16th October 2023 (formerly of Mount Vernon) beloved wife of the late Hugo, loving mother of Elaine, John, Hugo, Gavin and Eoghan, a much loved grandmother and sister. Her remains will be reposing in her daughter's home, 340 Clon Elagh. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 12.20pm for 1o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Creggan. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 12noon. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Gerry McGoldrick, 33 Westland Avenue, Derry
The death has taken place of Gerry McGoldrick, 14th October 2023, peacefully at Foyle Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, GERRY, beloved husband of Lorraine, loving father of Joseph, Garret, Celia and Caroline, a dear and loving grandfather and brother. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle and his many friends. Funeral leaving his home, 33 Westland Avenue on Wednesday, 18th October at 11.20am to St. Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 12noon. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Tanya Josephine Nicholl (née Neely), Derry
The death has occurred of the late Tanya Josephine Nicholl (née Neely), 15th October 2023, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, partner of Marc, formerly of Coleraine, loving mother of Zara-Lee, Anna-Lee and the late Jamie-Lee, cherished stepmother mother of Dale, Darren and the late Michael, daughter of Georgina and the late Adrian, loving sister of Jason, Leanne and Joanne and the late Brian and much loved daughter-in-law of Margaret. The death has taken place of Robin Walsh, passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital surrounded by his loving family on 16th October 2023. Much loved husband of Daphne, loving father of Gareth, Caroline and Kenneth, dear father in law of Oliver, Glen and Noelle, devoted grandfather of Alex, Amy, Ryan, Jessica, Sam, Alfie, also Roisin and Millenia. Dear brother of James, Elizabeth, Lexie and Kenneth. Funeral leaving his late home, 71 Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry at 1.30pm on Wednesday for service in Glendermott Presbyterian Church at 2.00pm followed by burial in adjoining Churchyard.
