Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Sheila Mary Alcock, 9 Grovemount Court, Altnagelvin
The death has occurred of Sheila Mary Alcock, 16th April 2023, (peacefully) at Foyle Hospice in her 83rd year, (formerly of 9 Grovemount Court, Altnagelvin) much love wife of the late Neil, devoted mum of Gillian, Mark, Neil and Sharron, loving mother in law of Glen and Carol ,adored nanny of Sarah, Emma, Davida, Leah and Eve, great nanny of Freya, Bradley, Aaliyah, Addison, Ayva, Daithi, dearest sister of Christine. Service of thanksgiving for her life in All Saints Clooney Parish Church on Wednesday, 19th April at 12noon followed by burial in Ballyoan cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to pay respects at Adair and Neely Funeral home Foyle Road, on Tuesday, 18th April from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Family flowers only donations in lieu if wished to The Foyle Hospice 61 Culmore Road BT48 8JE.
Mary Devine (née Doherty), Campsie
The death has taken place of Mary Devine (née Doherty), 16th April 2023, beloved wife of the late Brian, formerly of Campsie, loving mother of Cara, Clare and Rachel, mother-in-law of Fergal, Rib and Sean, devoted grandmother of Chloe, Morgan, Millie, Rhea and Lois, Bobby, Finn, Shea and Isla, great-grandmother of Summer and Page and a much loved aunt. Her remains are reposing in her daughter’s home, 33B Sheskin Road, Greysteel. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 9.25am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Star of The Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Lorna McLaughlin, 27 Castle Gardens, Limavady
The death has taken place of Lorna McLaughlin, (peacefully) passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, 27 Castle Gardens, Limavady. Much loved wife of Ferris, loving mother of Karen (Oldcroft) and Darren, dear mother in law of Ady, devoted grandmother of Adam, Aimee, Lauren and Lucie, also a dear sister of the late Julie. Funeral leaving her late home on Wednesday at 1.15pm for service in Drumachose Presbyterian Church at 2.00pm followed by burial in Enagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to Dementia NI and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est. Limavady. Family and friends welcome to attend the family home and funeral. (Private family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am). Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her entire family circle.
Kevin (Spike) Millican, Kathleen Thompson Fold, Garvagh
The death has taken place of Kevin (Spike) Millican, 10th April 2023, (suddenly) at his home, Kathleen Thompson Fold, Garvagh, beloved son of the late Kathleen and Robert, dear brother of Valerie, Kerry and David, a beloved father, grandfather and uncle. Service in the family home, 875 Killyvally Park, Garvagh on Wednesday at 11.30am, a private cremation will take place at later date. House private (close friends and family only). No flowers please. Donations in lieu if desired for British Lung Foundation c/o Mrs Mona Murdock, 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Deeply regretted by his loving family and entire family circle.
Billy (William) O'Kane, 43 Glenbank Road, Derry
The death has taken place of Billy (William) O'Kane, 16th. April 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, formerly of St. Johnston and Argyle Terrace), beloved husband of the late Mary, loving father of Clare, Michael, Katherine, Orla and the late Noeleen, devoted grandfather of Sarah, Liam, Katie, Emma and Clara, father-in-law to Kevin Duggan, Kevin Keay and John, dear son of the late Hugh and Margaret, loving brother of Kitty, Brendan and the late Michael, Hugh and Mary. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and the entire family circle. Funeral leaving his home, 43 Glenbank Road on Thursday 20th. April at 9.20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for requiem at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family Time Please From 10.00pm to 11.00am. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.
Thomas Alexander Quigley, 21 Metropole, Bridge Street, Derry
The death has taken place of Thomas Alexander Quigley, 16th April 2023, (suddenly) at Rushall Nursing Home, Limavady (formerly of 21 Metropole, Bridge Street in his 90th year) much loved son of the late Rebecca and Joseph, loving brother of Meta (England) Evelyn, Joan, June, Raymond and the late Ruby, Uel, Kathleen, Violet, Valerie and Cissie, a dear brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. Service of Thanksgiving in his sister Joan’s home, 16 Faughan View Park, Drumahoe on Thursday, 20th April at 1.00pm followed by burial in Glendermott New Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Chest, Heart & Stroke c/o Mrs. Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Very deeply regretted and will be lovingly remembered by his entire family circle. Peace is yours, memories ours.
