The following deaths have occurred:-
Denis Briggs, 62 Cawhill Park, Waterside, Derry
The death has taken place of Denis Briggs, 20th October 2023, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Marina, 62 Cawhill Park, Waterside, loving father of Andrew and the late Kathryn, a cherished father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Wednesday from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. His remains will then be removed to All Saints Church, Clooney for service there on Thursday morning at 10.00am. Cremation will take place in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3.30pm. Peter Conway (Tammy), 324 Foreglen Road, Derry
We regret to inform you the death has taken place of Peter Conway, suddenly but peacefully, at home on 23rd October 2023. May he rest in peace. Late of 324 Foreglen Road, Co Derry. Beloved husband of Gloria and loving father of Nigel (Rebecca), Claire (Christy), Seamus (Alice) and Gemma (Seamus). Devoted grandfather of Nikita (John), Ciara, Lola, Saul, Líle Evie and great grandfather of Ayla-Rae, Caiseal and the late baby Callan R.I.P. Dear brother of Anne Hughes, Josephine, Sean and the late Tom and Pat R.I.P. Reposing at his late home. Funeral from his late home on Thursday, 26th October leaving at 9.30am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St Peter & St Paul’s Church Foreglen. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, daughters, sons, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, Teresa and the extended family circle. Our Lady Of Knock pray for him. Joan Hamilton (née Quigley), Clooney Road, Waterside, Derry
The death has occurred of Joan Hamilton (née Quigley), 22nd October 2023 peacefully at Rush Hall Care Home, Limavady, beloved wife of the late Russell, formerly of Clooney Road, Waterside, loving mother of Anne and Graeme and cherished grandmother of Lauren, Dylan and Erin. Monica Jackson (née McGee), 8 Templegrove, Derry
The death has taken place of Monica Jackson (née McGee), 22nd October 2023, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of Roulston Avenue), beloved wife of Jim, loving mother of Sean, Rory, Tara, James and the late William, a devoted grandmother, dear daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth, dear and loving sister of Margaret, Nora and the late Molly, Tess, Ena, Patsy, Ann, Pop, Danny and Bridie and a cherished aunt to all her nieces and nephews and mother-in-law to Ruth, Sinead, Ross and Angela. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving her home, 8 Templegrove, on Wednesday, 25th October at 9.20am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Jennifer Kennedy (née Selfridge), 15 Parker Avenue, Castledawson
The death has taken place of Jennifer Kennedy (née Selfridge), 23rd October 2023, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital, 15 Parker Avenue, Castledawson, dearly beloved wife of David, much loved and devoted mother of David and Elizabeth (Libby), loving granny of Gracie, Sam and Jimmy, dear mother-in-law of Glenda and John, dearest sister of Alan, Eunice, Milly, Linda, Ann, Harriet and the late Mavis, Freddie, Etta and Iris and also a dear sister-in-law. Rosemary Madden (née Hughes), 63 Killycon Road, Greenlough
The death has taken place of Rosemary Madden (née Hughes), 22nd October 2023, peacefully surrounded by her loving family Rosemary R.I.P. beloved wife of the late Dan; loving mother of Karen (Hurrell), Róisín (Madden), Edel (Mooney), Donal, Patrick, Clare (Van Elst), Mary Jo (McPeake), Áine (McGuckin) and the late Hugh Francis; mother-in-law of Eamon, Tom, Ursula, Marty, Anthony, Gavin, Therese and the late Frank and a much adored Granny and great granny. Funeral from her late residence, 63 Killycon Road, on Thursday at 11.15am for 12noon Requiem Mass in St Oliver Plunkett's Church, Clady. Beloved partner of Josephine, loving father of Mark, father-in-law of Denise, a much loved grandfather of Caitlin and Ceallach. Patrick (Patsy) Quinn, 42 Moss Road Ballymaguigan
The death has taken place of Patrick (Patsy) Quinn, 23rd October 2023, Died peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family. Husband of the late Joanie (Sheridan) loving Father to Jim (Teresa), Hugo (Clare), Gerald (Joanne), Philip (Kyra), Mel (Orlagh). Cherished Grandfather to Ryan, Paul, Tristan, Saoirse, Ceadan, Duvessa, Jody, Keeli, Oisín, Kian and dear brother to Francie, Sean, Kevin, Margaret and Mickey and Life Long friend Anne Kearns. Patsys remains will repose at his late residence (42 Moss road Ballymaguigan BT45 6LJ) and will leave here on Wednesday morning at 11.15am for 12noon Requiem Mass at St Treas, Newbridge, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Parking in St Treas, Ballymaguigan for shuttle service to the Patsys late residents, between 6.00pm-10.00pm both evenings. Family time after 10.00pm. St Patrick pray for his gentle soul.
Catherine (Esther) Smyth, Derry
The death has taken place of Catherine (Esther) Smyth, 23rd October 2023. Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital. Wife of the late Matthew, a loving mother of Trevor and a much loved sister of Ethel. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 25th October 2023 at 1.00pm at Adair and Neely Funeral Home, 10-12 Foyle Road, followed by burial in Altnagelvin Cemetery. House strictly private.
