The following deaths have occurred:-
William Henry Arbuthnot, 4 Culnady Road, Upperlands
The death has taken place of William Henry Arbuthnot, 1st July 2023, (peacefully) at The Causeway Hospital, (in his 88th year), dearly loved Husband of Myrtle, 4 Culnady Road, Upperlands, much loved Father of Bill, Gordon, Michael, Arlene and Arnold, a dear Father-in-Law, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and dearest Brother of Jean, Evelyn, Tommy, Elizabeth, Aubrey and the late Stanley. House private. All welcome at D. Watters Funeral Home, Tobermore, on Tuesday evening (July 4th) from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. A Service of Thanksgiving will take place at William's home on Wednesday, July 5th, commencing at 1:00pm, followed by burial in Culnady Presbyterian Churchyard at 1:45pm (approx.). Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Cancer Research, can be made online or payable to D. Watters (Donations A/c), 55 Main Street, Tobermore Magherafelt BT45 5PP. Alan Blanking, 8 Summerhill, Prehen, Derry
The death has taken place of Alan Blanking, 3rd July 2023, beloved husband of Sadie and the late Ethna, loving father of Maureen, Owen, Mia and Joanna and a much loved grandfather and great-grandfather. His remains will be reposing in his home, 8 Summerhill, Prehen on Tuesday from 12.00pm to 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 9.25am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Columb’s Church, Waterside. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Seamus Carlin, 12 Kinnego Park, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Seamus Carlin, (peacefully) at his home, surrounded by all of his loving family on 3rd July 2023. Late of 12 Kinnego Park and formerly of 134 Creggan Heights. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Mary. Devoted father of Stephen and Caoimhe. A much loved father-in-law of John and Catherine. Loving brother of Dan, Eilish, Charlie, Pauline and the late Annie, Margaret and Joe. Dearest brother-in-law of John and Patrick. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Seamus’s remains will be reposing at his late family home, 12 Kinnego Park. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, 6th July at 9:20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Marion Cunningahgam (née Doherty), 6 Gortmore Place, Strathfoyle, Derry
The death has occurred of Marion Cunningahgam (née Doherty), 3rd July 2023, (peacefully) at her home, 6 Gortmore Place, Strathfoyle, beloved wife of Joseph, loving mother of Declan and Canice, mother-in-law of Michelle and Leona, devoted grandmother of Shéagh, Caoimhe, Teagan, Joel and Jenna, great-grandmother of Caitlin and Niamh, daughter of the late Charlie and Agnes Doherty and dear sister of Kathleen, Charles, Mary and the late Agnes and Liam. Deeply regretted by all her nieces and nephews. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 12.30pm for 1o’clock Requiem Mass in St Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Strathfoyle. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Rhoda Mildred Haslett, 59 Bells Hill, Limavady
The death has taken place of Rhoda Mildred Haslett, 3rd July 2023, (peacefully) passed away at Cornfield Care Centre, late of 59 Bells Hill, Limavady. Much loved Mother of Mark, George dear mother in law of Louise and devoted Grandmother of Ella and Ewan, dear sister of John. (Last remaining sibling of ten) Friends and family are welcome to call at the family home on Wednesday and Thursday from 2.00pm to 9.00pm. Funeral leaving her late home on Friday at 2.30pm for service Browns Funeral home at 3.00pm. (All welcome) Followed by private family committal at Roselawn Crematorium. Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her entire family circle.
Marion Sumner, 19 Lisnablagh Road, Coleraine
The death has taken place of Marion Sumner, 30th June 2023, (peacefully) at Causeway Hospital, 19 Lisnablagh Road, Coleraine. Beloved mother of Sheree and the late Elaine, Gary, Paul & Toni; and a much loved grandmother and great-grandmother, dear sister of Meta, Lilian, Jean and Hughie; and a loving aunt. The death has occurred of Florence Evelyn (Florrie) Tosh(née Thompson), 3rd July 2023, (peacefully) at her daughter Wendy and much loved son-in-law John’s home, 26 Portstewart Road, Coleraine, Florence Evelyn (Florrie), formerly of Portstewart and Linden Avenue, Coleraine, dearly loved mother of Ronald, Michael, James, Steven, Ian, Wendy, Andrew and Julie and a dear mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Service in her son Ronald’s home, 6 Innishowen Park, Portstewart on Thursday at 11.30am followed by a private family cremation.
